Chapter 50

"Well, we have most of the day off. What do you want to do with it?" Eric asked as they headed home.

"I was thinking about stripping you naked and licking you all over, but I suppose we should go to the pool at the club like we said we were. We need to work on our swimming strokes if we're gonna keep in shape for our senior year." Josh answered. "I'd like us to set a few records."

"If I rinse the chlorine off thoroughly, will you make good on your first plan after we practice?" Eric snickered.

"Let's go home and do it before swimming in case we get tired out."

There were no signs of life in the house when they returned. On the table was a note saying that Rob and Robbie had gone to pick up Sophia for a meeting with Mr. Worthington about the grant applications they'd been working on.

Ben and Scott should be meeting with Mr. Overman about now. With the thought of no one else around, the boys began to strip each other of what clothing they still had on (having removed their shirts before driving home). They left a trail of discarded clothing on their way upstairs toward the room that they were now occupying together full-time. Naked, hard, and not wanting to wait another minute, Josh pulled Eric down on the hall carpet and began to make good on his promise of licking every square inch of his body. He was busy laving his balls when the door of the master bedroom opened and their dads emerged.

"I take it the meeting went well," Scott quipped dryly.

"Oh shit! We thought you were at Norm's gallery. Where's the car?" Josh said as he slid up on Eric to hide both of their erections (which were rapidly deflating).

"They called us back to postpone the contract signing until late this afternoon so you could participate. They thought you were on your way to the pool. So, we took the crossover in for servicing and came back for a little R and R ourselves. Please don't feel embarrassed. We were doing essentially the same thing. From what I just witnessed, you must have inherited your father's versatile tongue muscle."

"We're off to pick up the car and then to lunch, so carry on as you were," Ben added. "I'm really sorry that we spoiled your mood. You both seem a little `down' at the moment."

The boys' embarrassment at being caught in the act vanished in their giggles over their dads' reactions. They realized once again how fortunate they were to have fathers who understood EXACTLY how they felt.

"Okay, where was I," Josh asked as they heard the kitchen door close.

"You were giving my `nads a bath with that multitalented tongue you inherited from your dad." Eric snickered. "I want you to continue demonstrating its flexibility, but not before I pee."

"Yeah, getting caught stimulated my bladder too."

The boys took care of business side by side, rinsed off their swelling dicks, and went back into the hall.

"Let's go down and get a drink and then you can chase me up the stairs and tackle me again," Eric suggested. "That was HOT!"

A few minutes later, Josh was again licking Eric's balls. He moved down to his perineum and continued flicking his gifted tongue in motions that made Eric squirm in anticipation.

Eric decided that if this went on another minute he would undoubtedly explode before he wanted to, so he traded places to practice giving pleasure to Josh in the same way.

When Josh was almost to the point of no return, he asked Eric to straddle his face so that he could bring him back up to speed. It didn't take long. Josh blew his load first, but Eric followed closely behind nearly collapsing on his lover in the warm feeling of their post orgasmic bliss.

They helped each other up and donned their swimsuits, shorts, T's, and sandals. After grabbing towels and a couple of energy bars to tide them over, they got back into the convertible and headed for the club pool.

When they had finished swimming, they ate a quick lunch at the club and hurried home to change back into the clothes they'd worn in the morning. Fortunately, being tossed on the floor hadn't put any major wrinkles in them.

Back at the gallery, Mr. Overman explained the terms of the contract and all of the affected parties signed. It was obvious that the boys weren't going to get rich from their first creative venture. They were amazed at what a small percentage of the selling price of a book went to the ones who'd actually produced its content. However, the book would be an excellent entry on their resumes and might be a stepping stone to bigger and better things. At the moment, the anticipation of having their work published was enough to give them a natural high.

Eric and Josh removed their shirts again upon entering the Mitsubishi while Scott and Ben remained formally dressed and thus looked like distinguished business men as they drove to a supermarket to buy steaks for a celebratory dinner.

July Fourth was coming up and that would be another excuse to fire up the grill for a summer cookout. Ben and Scott had already invited Wade and Roger to come and decided to see if Chuck and Rob were free as well. It seemed like a good idea to get these two like-minded couples together.

Chuck had been home alone and tentatively accepted the invitation pending Rob's arrival from work. He inquired about what they might bring as a dish to share.

The meal was scheduled for dinnertime because Josh and Eric had to work at the club until at least noon. They weren't scheduled originally, but had volunteered because two of their friends needed the morning off. Dylan's parents were going to Grandma's and Garret's family had been invited by Sophia for a celebration brunch.

Unfortunately, the boys got split up. "Lucky" Eric drew locker room duty while Josh was on the refreshment cart with Damian. Even though he'd hoped to be with his boyfriend, Josh was pleased with the assignment since he got to be outside, and Damian was fun company. The place was far less busy than it had been on the famous tournament Sunday, but still the two boys didn't have time to dally. Damian was as industrious as Eric about keeping their supplies up and trying to satisfy the members' requests in a timely manner.

As they were coming back from reloading their cart, Mr. Chadick (Josh's least favorite member) looked their way.

"Bring me a cold Budweiser on the double, boy," he commanded.

Josh opened the cooler and started over bringing the charge pad for his signature.

"Not you Brady, I was talking to the boy."

"With all due respect, MR. ChaDICK, it's not polite to call anyone that – especially one of African American descent. That's almost as bad as the "n" word."

"Are you telling me what I should or shouldn't say, kid? You both need to learn your place since you're bound to take a servile role here."

"I'm just reminding you to be politically correct, SIR." Josh responded while pulling out his cell phone. "Perhaps you've had enough beer for the day already."

"You have the temerity to tell me what to do? Well fuck you and this nigger boy both! I'll have your jobs for being insolent! You can clear out your lockers after you apologize! And don't expect any recommendations from the club when you end up trying to get a job flipping burgers."

"I sincerely doubt that will happen, Sir," Josh said to the back of the retreating man.

"Excuse me young man," a pleasant middle aged lady said to Josh. "I couldn't help overhearing the exchange."

"Are you upset with me too," he asked.

"Not in the least! I came over to say `bravo'. You have the kind of grit that our forefathers did when they formed this nation over 200 years ago. Here is my card. I'll be in touch with Cliff to protect your jobs."

Josh studied the card momentarily, his eyes widening.

"Mrs. Bell! Wow. You and your husband are the current co-presidents of the club, right?"

"Yes, I'm Pamela Bell, but my friends call me `Tinker' and that's what I want you to do. How did you know who I am?"

"Dad and his partner are members."

"Oh, I do think it's so great that you're a child of privilege and not afraid to work here!"

"Are your parents members too young man?" she asked of Damian.

"How many people with my superior tan do you see in this place?" Damian grinned, raising one eyebrow.

"Well, granted there aren't that many, but we're not racists! Mr. Randall full-of-his-drunken-self Chadick will have to apologize to you if he wants to be welcome here. He doesn't know this, but my great-great-great grandfather was born into slavery in Virginia. He was sired by the plantation owner's son and he married a white woman after he was freed, so most of his descendents could pass for white. But you and I may well have common ancestry. Wouldn't that be cool?

When is your shift over, by the way?"

"About five minutes ago," Josh told her.

"Good! Let me hitch a ride back on your cart and we'll talk to Cliff right now. Then I'd like for you both to join Peter and me for lunch if you don't have to run off."

"Well, my housemate is here too and will expect us to drive home together." Josh said.

"He's welcome to eat with us. The more the merrier!"

"Here, you can have my seat and I'll ride in back, Ma'am," Damian offered.

"No, you sit up front. I'm still agile enough to climb in back, but thank you."

When they arrived back at the supply area, Mrs. Bell had the boys go in on their own to tell their story. She was eager to know what Cliff's reaction would be without her presence to influence him.

He was upset to hear what had happened and apprehensive about how it would all shake out.

"Are you sure he really talked like that?" Cliff asked after Josh and Damian repeated the conversation nearly verbatim.

"Yes, he was already about three-sheets to the wind as my dad would say," Damian joked. "He didn't hold back on the use of hurtful words."

"But if there's no proof, I'm not sure what the outcome will be. He's very influential and rather wealthy."

Cliff thought a minute before continuing.

"I'm going to back you, because I believe you, but it could mean my job too." Cliff said grimly.

"We don't want you to lose your job over what I did," Josh assured him. "I'll quit if it comes to that, but I couldn't stand there and keep my mouth shut when he was dissing my friend. I do have a short vid clip that I took on my cell phone if you want to see it."

The video was a bit grainy, but clear enough to make out Randall Chadick's contorted face. The audio was crystal clear. Cliff smiled.

"We'll show this to the Bell's. They are going to be pissed! Thanks for having the sense to record this. It'll save my ass!"

"Damn straight I'm pissed and Peter will be too when he hears. Rest assured your job is safe, Cliff." said Pamela as she swept into the room. "Please have someone take care of these boys' cart. I'm taking them to lunch with me right now. If Randall comes around complaining, send him to me!"

"Yes Ma'am," Cliff grinned.

Ten minutes later, the three of them plus Eric were heading for the table where Peter Bell was waiting for his wife.

"I might have known you'd be off flirting with handsome young lads," he laughed as he gave his wife a peck on the cheek.

"Now behave Peter, these delightful young men are working here for the summer and two of them had a run-in with the nastiest member of the club."

"What's Chadick been up to now?" Peter said without having to be given a hint as to the identity of the one his wife was referring to.

Tinker proceeded to give him the whole story. She ended by saying that she wanted a copy of the video clip from Josh's phone. She hinted that she had further plans for it.

They had finished their lunch and were about to go their separate ways when Randal Chadick stormed up to the table.

"Well, I see you've already apprehended the culprits!" he said with a self-satisfied smile. "I think an apology is due and then a dismissal."

"Oh dear," Tinker said with feigned sadness. "I was hoping that a sincere apology might be sufficient. Are you sure that dismissal from the club is necessary? That is a drastic measure."

"Absolutely! How does one teach a lesson without going the full distance?"

"As you wish," Peter joined in.

"Please apologize to Damian and Joshua and then clear the things out of your locker. Your membership is hereby revoked pending a vote by the full board."

"WHAT?!"

"You were clearly in the wrong with your racist remarks. Had you not demanded more than an apology, I might not have insisted that you leave. In your drunken state, you evidently didn't know that Tinker witnessed the whole exchange. You'll be lucky if you get off this easy; she's not a forgiving woman when pushed beyond a point."

Randall Chadick turned on his heel, cursing loudly about how minorities were taking over the country as he headed for the bar.

The boys said their goodbyes to the Bell's and shook hands all around. But when it came to Damian, Tinker hugged the young man who was almost a head taller than she. Both stepped back with moist eyes.

When the guys got outside, Damian hugged Josh too.

"Man, you've got bigger balls than I do! I didn't want to upset the applecart by taking that asshole on."

"I know. That's part of the reason I had to. He's a racist and a pompous ass! And about the balls thing, we've seen you in the locker room. YOU'VE got balls!"

"Thanks!" Damian grinned. "You're a true friend. If you're ever in trouble, I've got your back."

"Are you guys starving?" Ben asked when Eric and Josh entered the kitchen door.

"No, we ate. I'm sorry that I didn't let you know that we wouldn't be home for lunch. In the excitement, I honestly forgot. We've been dining with Peter and Tinker."

"No way!"

"Way!"

"You had lunch with the Bell's? There has to be a good story behind this one."

"Yeah there is. Do you know that she's friends with Sophia Mancini and she knows Norm? It turns out she was even at my opening!" Josh exclaimed. "They're fabulously wealthy I think, but completely down to earth! We love them! But that's not how we got acquainted."

Ben and Scott finished their lunch while Josh told his story about the confrontation with Mr. Chadick and Eric filled in bits of the table conversation. Ben got up from the table to hug his son long and hard.

"I'm so proud of you. You did it even though you knew it might mean your job. You confirm my faith in the next generation. I love you both," he continued as he put an arm around Eric. "I know you have good hearts."

The boys pitched in to help finish preparations for their dinner guests. Then they went to the basement to pull out the toys that they'd picked up at garage sales for Ethan and other kids to play with when they came over. Among the goodies were a dump truck and fire engine as well as lots of cars. There was even a wooden train set that someone had made by hand.

Rob, Blake, and Robbie came home from Sophia's party in time to help too, but Ben told them everything was nearly set up and that they should rest so they'd be able to watch fireworks later. They took him up on the offer and had a short nap.

Eric and Josh did likewise. They might have used the time for making out, but the excitement of the past few days and the stress of the morning made sleep look more attractive than sex at the moment.

Wade and Roger arrived first. They apologized for being early, but said that Ethan was driving them crazy because he wanted to see Eric and Josh.

The boys quickly took him to the backyard where they had put out the array of toys. They had even purchased two bags of play sand and poured them into a small plastic wading pool so that Ethan could use the toy sand loader and dump truck. The youngster was in seventh heaven. His only experience with sand had been at a beach. This was a whole new thing for him.

"Now I'll have to make a sandbox," Roger said. "I may enlist you boys to help since you're spoiling him."

"That would be fun. Josh and I can break some time free next week if you want to get the lumber. I'd suggest treated wood or cedar. Be sure to buy enough to make a cover for it to keep the cats in the neighborhood from using it as a litter box."

Roger had meant it as a joke, but it was soon turning into a serious building project.

When Chuck and Rob showed up, introductions were made all around. Soon the men began talking about restoring houses. Wade had brought their scrapbook of before and after pictures. Chuck was especially fascinated.

"My brother restored an old Victorian in Bentonville, Iowa," Wade said. "You should see what he did to that. I'm proud to say that my son, as well as his son, worked on it with him. I think there's a restoration gene in our family."

"Did you say `Bentonville'?" Rob asked. "My family came from there."

"Little Robby Crouser! I thought you looked familiar," Wade exclaimed. "I remember you as a little kid."

"Talk about six degrees of separation, this is like two." Rob declared. "Chuck designed a lake cottage not far from there for an older couple named Masterson. Do you happen to know them?"

"Not well, but my son and nephew were good friends with their grandson, Joel. That cottage is next door to my mother's."

Chuck's eyes lit up as he asked the question that he figured he already knew the answer to.

"What are the names of your son and nephew?"

"Colt and Dane Johnson."

"Oh my God! Hey Josh, Eric, do you remember when I told you that you reminded me of a couple of great young guys? Well, it turns out that Wade is related to them. I hope you'll get to meet them someday."

"Uh, we're going camping with them later this month," Josh replied with a huge grin. "We met them because of going to Wade and Roger's place on a tour of period houses. Wow, it really is a small world!"

"This is too much," Chuck laughed. "I feel like I'm in the middle of a story. This kind of thing can't happen in real life."

The cookout was a culinary success as well as a social one. Everyone had his fill and there was lots of food left over. The guys all visited until it was dark enough for the fireworks to begin. Then they carried their lawn chairs to the park a few blocks away where the view was better.

The adults agreed that the pyrotechnic display was extraordinary, but Ethan was absolutely in awe. This was the first year that he really gotten into fireworks. His dads hoped that he wouldn't be too excited to sleep, but they needn't have worried. At the end, he was drowsy enough that he had to be carried like Robbie.

When the display was over, the guests began to pack up and head for their respective homes.

Chuck and Rob said that they wanted to host a similar event as soon as they got possession of their fixer-upper. It would be a good excuse to get together again and they'd welcome input from the two couples who had gone through the restoration process already.

Author's notes: Happy Thanksgiving the coming week to my US readers. Hope you don't over-indulge in goodies. We all need to do our push-backs (ie: pushing back from the table)!
