Ok, guys, all the disclaimers apply, that means all thanks goes to Marvel

For the X-Men, I'm just making the story. And I do read all the other

Stories and they're great, keep up the good work. They inspire me!

"I don't know why I'm working for you." Raiden said, unaffected by the man standing before her.

"You work for me," Sinister said, "Because I am the only one who sees the real you."

"You know the real me?" Raiden asked, taking the manila envelope he presented her with, "Who am I, then?"

"You're just another lost little girl, looking to find herself." Sinister smirked.

"See, I thought it was because you could shield me from my friends." Raiden said.

Sinister chuckled, "Friends? Well, well my dear, we do still hope." He smiled.

"They are my friends!" Raiden said to herself, looking down, "They are my friends." When she looked up again, he was gone, "What...a dick."

Chapter 87: Missing

"I'm still not sensing anything from her." Professor Xavier said, "I must confess, I thought that I would be able to assist you, but it seems that I will not."

I sighed, "She's not the least bit telepathic, so how could she be hiding herself? I mean, you're one of the greatest telepathic minds in the world."

"She could be using some kind of technology." Professor said.

"Yeah, but who's supplying her with gear?" I asked.

"I honestly do not know." Professor said, "I had hoped I would be able to spend more time with you, but I am scheduled to speak very soon at a college campus."

"It's no biggie. We'd basically be trying to find Raiden anyway." I said.

"I had really wished I could do more." Professor said, "I hope you will attend my speech for mutant equality."

"Of course." I said, "Takes my mind off us not helping Raiden."

"I'm sure the answer will come to you." Professor Xavier smiled.

"Let's hope so. Because if I can't save her..."

"Do not think so gravely." He said.

I nodded, "I can't help it." I frowned.

Connor came into the room, "Hi, Professor." He said.

"Hi," he said, "I shall be going, but do keep in touch." He said, leaving.

"If we can't save her, you'll do what?" Connor asked.

I groaned ,"What you heard..."

"WHAT will you do?" Connor asked angrily.

"Whatever I have to." I said loudly, "This is the sitch, Raiden isn't Raiden anymore! She needs help and if I can't help her, I've got to stop her!"

"Kill her?" Connor asked.

"She won't come easily." I said quickly, "So...yes."

"Do you even hear yourself?" Connor asked, "This woman's going to be my wife, the mother of my son!"

"You know, shut the fuck up! You're acting like this only affects you! You're acting like I haven't been right here fighting just as hard, sharing the pain and the joy! I don't want to kill her..."

"Then don't."

"I swore that I'd protect the world, even though the world hates me and that's what I'll do, to my last breath." I said.

"I'll fight you, you bastard, I'll fight you so hard." Connor said angrily.

"...And I'll fight back." I said quickly, "But I'm tired of defending myself to you."

"Why do you do this? Everytime you turn this into you having to save the world!"

"If I don't, no one will. You sure as hell won't." I said slowly.

Connor stared at me, boring a hole right through me.

"Somebody's helping her." I said, "Shielding her. Hiding her out."

"Who?" Connor asked.

"I don't know." I said quickly, "But if we're going to find her, we need to do it fast."

"You can kill her but the last thing she'll see is me kicking your ass." Connor said seriously.

I nodded.

"Where do we start looking for her?" Connor asked.

"I think I can help." Detective Richard Marcus said, standing in the doorway with an envelope, "This guy's giving a speech tonight, he's next." He said plopping the folder down.

Connor and I looked at each other, shocked.

-

Professor Xavier: The time has come, brothers and sisters, for us, not to fight back, but to learn and grow from our experience. It may be hard to ignore what has just happen, but we must if we are to move past everything we know into a future that is unknown.

"This guy's got a way with words." Richard whispered to me.

Richard and I were by the stage, looking up as he gave the rousing speech. Connor was at the back, making sure no one slipped past us. Scott was on stage and I tried to conceal myself. Professor, however, spotted me right away. We made eye contact and I smiled, listening to his speech. I immediately began moving backstage, only to be stopped by a rather big guy.

"Detective Richard Marcus." Richard said, flashing his badge.

The large man let us through into the back.

"Pane." Katia's petite voice said.

"Hey, Pane!" Bobby said, walking over arm and arm with Katia.

"Hey guys." I said, "We need to get to Professor Xavier."

"He's just wrapping up." Scott said, walking over to us.

"You know these people?" Richard asked.

"Who's this?" Scott asked, looking him up and down.

"This is Detective Marcus. Rich, this is Scott, Bobby, and Katia." I said, "We need to see the Professor."

"He's in the back." Scott said, "He was great, wasn't h..."

"He's in danger." I said.

In the dressing room...

Professor Xavier sat in front of a mirror, toweling his brow as a round of applause sounded in his room and Professor Xavier looked around, trying to find the source. He couldn't identify it, but he sensed a presence, even though he couldn't exactly feel who it was.

"Nice speech." A disembodied voice said.

Professor Xavier was horrified at first, then he softened, "Raiden, your friends have been worried about you." He said.

Raiden became visible, holding a knife, "Really? Now I feel all special." She smirked.

"You can be helped." Professor said, "It wasn't your fault, you know."

Raiden was silent, "I bet it hurts when I cut people. You know, they scream and scream but I bet it's way worse." She said quickly.

"You will receive no fear from me." Professor Xavier said, "All you will receive is my condolences."

"I like a challenge." Raiden said.

"You do not want to do this." Professor said, "There will be no turning back."

"I think the time for turning back is over, chuck." Raiden smirked, moving closer to him.

"You have no idea." I said, standing with Katia, Bobby, Richard, and Scott, "Close the door. No one gets in, no one gets out." I said, allowing Professor X to leave.

"Oh, if it isn't my friend." Raiden smirked, "What are you going to do? Give me a stern talking to? I'm from Harlem."

I raised my hand and caused an explosion beside her, causing her to fly backwards into a mirror! Raiden got to her feet, knife in hand, and began walking towards me, disappearing halfway. I set off a few more explosions, but nothing surfaced until I felt a knife around my neck.

"I could chop you to pieces." Raiden said, the anger in her voice a foreign subtly.

"I don't die. You can stop now, we can go ba..." I said as she slit my throat. I dropped to the ground, gushing blood, trying to breath but I couldn't. Suddenly, I was healed and I stood, looking at the door, which Raiden was pounding on. I grabbed her by the hair and pushed her to the floor, "I really hate seeing my own blood." I said, "No going back now."

"Nope." Raiden said, getting to her feet.

"I didn't want it to come to this." I said as if I was at the end of a really long rope.

"Who would have thought?" Raiden said, walking toward me.

She through the first punch and it connected, causing me to stagger back into the door. I ducked in time to miss the knife from going through my head! I elbowed her in the side, and grabbed her hair, slamming her head into the door! She then elbowed me in the face and spun around, kicking me in the stomach! I stumbled back and rolled over to my feet, grabbing her next kick and slamming my fist against her leg, causing her to yelp! She tried another kick but I blocked it with my arm and spun around while I was down and kicked her other foot from under her! When she was on the ground I walked over to see if she bumped her head hard enough to knock her out but she kicked me in the chest and got to her feet. She flew across the air and kicked me again in the chest, causing me to smash into a table sitting a few feet away. I stood again, watching her go invisible.

"Good fight." She panted.

I looked around, "You're not going to win this." I said.

"I'm not here to kill Professor Xavier." Raiden said.

"Oh yeah? Who are you here to kill?" I asked.

Raiden smirked, even though I couldn't see her, I could tell, "You." She said.

I dodged the knife, I could feel it whizzing past my head! I dropped again and brought my foot up, connecting to her chin! The knife slid into view as did Raiden and I picked the knife up and held it to her neck.

"You can't do it." Raiden said, standing as I still held the knife to her, "You could never do it."

"You're right." I said, spinning around backhanding her so hard she smashed against the wall and fell to the floor, "Stupid bitch."

-

"Why are we keeping her tied up?" Connor raged.

"Because we don't have drugs to knock her dumb ass out." I frowned.

"Did you have to hit her?" Connor asked.

"I don't make it a thing to hit women, but the bitch was so asking for it." I said frowned.

Scott, Professor X, Richard, Katia, and Bobby had helped bring her back. They were now standing by as I argued with Connor over fighting Raiden. I didn't want to fight her, but she can't go around killing people. What spooked me the most was that I was her target now.

"Perhaps..." Professor started.

"You know, I think I need you all out of here." Connor said.

"Hey, he..." Scott said.

"I think he's right." I said, "Thank you so much for helping, but we're taking it from here."

"If you need us, we're not too far away." Scott said.

I nodded as I watched them leave.

"She's tied up! She's freaking tied up!" Connor said.

"It broke my heart to kick her ass!" I shouted, "It broke my heart."

"Pane..."

"I need to sleep." I said, "Make sure she doesn't leave."

"I'll help." Richard said.

"Okay." I said, leaving.
