Chapter 44: Sirens for Titan

"It slid into her like butter." Buffy said, waving Faith's knife.

"Five by five, B." Faith said.

"Willow, you're a Goddess." Kennedy said.

"We can't win!" Rona shouted.

Willow waved an evil hand, " No one can beat me." she smirked.

I was them. I was in the future. The past. The present. And I was them, felt what they felt. Did what they did. I stood before someone I knew to be Drusilla. I felt myself fight her, but I stopped and looked into her eyes. We were swaying...then, all of a sudden, she slit my throat and I fell to the floor!

KICK! PUNCH! And an uppercut sent a vampire hurtling backwards and to the ground, where I staked him. I must have been too busy to hear Grahm come up behind me.

"Nice work." Grahm smiled.

"All in a day's work." I smiled, " It's what a slayer does, remember?"

"Slayer, wait, who's a slayer?" he asked.

"I am, haven't we been over this?" I asked.

"That's not possible." Grahm said, " Slayers are women."

"Were women." I smiled, " I'm an exception."

"That's a little odd." Grahm said, thinking, "That you would be a slayer."

I frowned, " Why is that strange? Cause I'm not some skinny white chick with super powers?" I asked.

"Kind of, actually." he chuckled, " so, you live here...In Sunnydale two?"

"Is that what the army's calling it? Anywho, yeah. I just imagine the ratio. Slayers: 2, undead demony things: 4654654654324234." I smirked, " So, I would have thought you'd be gone."

"I think I'll be staying for a while, what with the demons and all." he said quickly.

"Right. Army boys just can't get enough of the undead." I said as we moved past the crypt, " I can already tell you're going to die."

"Thanks." he said.

"I'm the slayer, it's what I do." I said, " Slay vampires and slay the untruth."

"What's that mean?" Grahm asked.

I stopped and turned to him, " Is there a reason why you're following me and asking me questions?" I asked.

"I just don't know. I mean, I saw you take out those vampires, but I don't think you're a slayer. I mean, guys aren't slayers, but what do I know? I'm only a soldier." he said.

"And yet you're still talking." I smirked, " I'm gonna ned you to not be talking."

"Sorry."

"It's okay. As long as you're not talking."

"You're meaner than I remember."

"Maybebecause we never had any actual interactions." I said, carefully watching for vampires. I walked across the green cemetary and stopped at the sight of Titan, " What are you doing here?"

"Me?" Titan asked, looking perturbed, " Running from her."

"Her?" I asked.

"I think he means her." Grham said, pointing to Sinew, " Wait, is he a vampire?"

I shrugged, " Haven't really asked yet. You should go, this could get gorey." I said quickly.

"I can help." Grahm said.

"I don't think you can, meat sack, this ain't a roman arena. Skidaddle." Sinew said, walking over and stopping a few feet away from us, " Thought you could run, huh, you little bas..."

"You're running from her?" I asked, " Didn't you summon her?"

"Look, it's a long sto..." Titan said.

"Oh God! Get out of my way!" Sinew said and Grahm ran at her, to which she swatted him away, " You almost messed up my dress!"

She walked at me and punched at me, but I caught her arm, " Yeah, cause a yellow sundress is just so fetching." I said, kicking her in the stomach! She brought her hand up and backhanded me, causing me to stumble back and before I could turn around, I felt her hands grip my jacket and throw me into the air! As I fell down onto the roof, even I heard the loud thud. Before I knew it, I heard a crack and looked over to see that I had landed on a stained-glass window. I stopped breathing, trying not to crack it anymore. I heard a groan and before I knew it, I breathed and fell through the crypt's roof and into the crypt below. As I opened my eyes, a feeling of pain flashed through my body. It stuck to my side. I felt my side and looked down to see a piece of glass. "Play the Role!" flashed through my mind and I shot up to see that I wasn't alone.

"I see you like my home." Lestat smiled.

I chuckled to myself, then hissed when I felt the glass, " You live here?" I asked.

"Let's just say I'm renting." Lestat smiled, sniffing the air, " Are you injured?"

"No." I said quickly.

He smiled, " I will not attack you." he said.

"How do I know?" I asked.

"I keep my promises." Lestat said honestly.

I tried to stand, but stumbled, only to have Lestat help me, " Sorry about the ceiling, I got..."

"Manhandled. I watched." Lestat said, holding in laughter, " You're bleeding."

"Yeah, well, as soon as I pull the glass out it'll heal." I said, tugging it out, " Owww!"

"I meant your face." Lestat said, handing me a mirror.

I took, looking into it and seeing my bloody lip and darkened eye, " Why do you have a mirror?" I asked, putting a finger under my nose to stop the blood, " You can't see yourself."

"Get out." he said abruptly.

I stopped and looked at him, " What did I..."

"Get out!' he said, snatching the mirror.

I nodded and walked out of the crypt and into Grahm, who looked to be out of breath, " Please don't tell me you chased them." I asked, looking around, " She did take him, right?"

"Yeah." Grahm huffed, " So what do we do?"

"We? I'm going home to watch 'Gossip Girl', unless 'House Of Payne' is on. Nope, it's GG. 'Gossip Girls' is the new Gilmore Girls.

"So, you're not gonna help him?" Grahm asked.

"I hadn't thought about it. Oh gosh, I really hadn't thought about it." Is aid, wondering should I go and save Titan. The villian in so many of my dreams...ummm, I mean, nightmares.

Oz had performed three songs with The Dingoes, sort of as a 'Reunion' of the band. He now sat, waiting for Austin to show up, but he hadn't. The guys had joined him for a while, then, one by one they had left, leaving only he and Devin.

"So, being with the band again is great, huh?" Devin said, eyeing some girls passing by.

Oz chuckled, " Yeah." he said, checking his watch.

"So, me and the guys are thinking that you should join us again." Devin said casually.

Oz stared at him in disbelief at first, " Huh?" he asked.

"We've been talking about it more and more lately and nobody plays the guitar like you." Devin said.

"I...I'd...Ummm..." Oz stammered, " You guys are staying here?"

"Here? No. We want you to come on the road with us." Devin smiled.

"I don't know...." Oz said.

"Just think about it." Devin smiled.

"I will." Oz said seriously, watching him walk away. As Devin walked away, I ran past him and to the table, " You might be a little late."

"OR alot." I smiled, taking a seat.
