Every member of the Foster family along with Geoff and his parents were in a state of shock when they heard of Jordon's father's escape from prison. Jennifer, Jordon's mother burst into tears at the news, sobbing uncontrollably, saying over and over, "Why can't he just leave us alone."

The police arranged for the farm and the house in town to be guarded while Eddie arranged with his boss for extra security to be brought in to look after both properties. Road blocks had been set up around the district in an effort to recapture Freddy Foster before he came anywhere near.

A call was put through to Damien who told them that he and Bentley would leave Toronto on the next available flight and should be at the farm later in the day. The local media including a TV reporter arrived at the farm but were turned away at the gate by security per Jennifer's request. So they set up camp outside the gates with more and more media and sightseers arriving all the time.

Jordon spotted Betsy and a couple of guys from school and asked for them to be allowed in. Betsy threw her arms around Jordon and then Geoff sobbing before asking if there was anything they could do to help, "Not really but thanks, all we can do right now is wait until he is recaptured and hope and pray he doesn't make it to the farm."

The guys working on the construction of the accommodation block were carefully searched and scrutinized. When they arrived and once security were satisfied they went to work. However, none of them were allowed to leave or move too far from the job until it was time to knock off work.

Home schooling for the boys was also put on hold for the day with neither the boys or their teacher mother able to concentrate. Even Veronica was unable to do any administrative work finding it impossible to concentrate. Geoff's parents arrived with Martha taking over the kitchen providing coffee and snacks all day long for everyone, not that any of the family felt like eating anyway.

Jordon went on line and spoke to Miles explaining what was happening. Miles said he would talk to Keith. If he was in agreement he would fly up later today or early tomorrow to help out where he could, "Because Keith has just been promoted he can not get away, but I will try to get up there if I can." He explained to Jordon.

It was just after lunch that news came through from the RCMP that a property about fifty miles away had been broken into. A car along with a couple of rifles and ammunition had been stolen and they suspected it was Freddy Foster. The police inspector advised the family to remain indoors and suggested that the construction crew be sent home until he had been apprehended.

All this was causing the family to freak out, especially as they were told to stay away from windows and open doors. Eddie was the only one outside and Veronica was worried for his safety. So security told him to join his girlfriend inside.

By mid-afternoon Damien and Bentley arrived with Damien immediately taking control of the situation. They also received a call from Miles telling them that he would be arriving in about three hours once he had organized a rental car at Saskatchewan airport. He also told them that Keith had spoken to his superiors and it was possible that he would be able to travel the next day to help out.

Apparently his boss had been in contact with his counterpart at the Royal Canadian Police headquarters. He offered his help to recapture Mr Foster by providing Keith as a liaison officer. It was obvious that everything that could be done was being done with everyone working together to recapture Jordon's father who was obviously totally unbalanced mentally and intent to do grievous bodily harm to his family.

As evening came it was time to tend to the stock with Damien offering to go out and do what needed to be done. He went out into the gathering gloom surrounded by several security guys who acted as a shield. They had earlier been issued bullet proof vests for added protection.

Once the cow and horses along with the chickens had been put away safely for the night, Damien was escorted back to the house which was then securely locked up with curtains drawn. While Geoff's mom Martha had cooked a great meal not much of it was eaten as appetites were non-existent. The phone rang just as they all sat around the table making everyone jump.

It was security telling them that someone called Miles was at the gate trying to get in. Damien Ok'd the entry and Miles was escorted indoors. After hugs and handshakes all round he explained that for the first time ever a Texas Ranger would be acting as a liaison tomorrow when Keith was expected to arrive thanks to his boss.

"Well we certainly will be a force to contend with." Damien remarked as they all sat around the kitchen table. The phone rang again and this time it was the police with an update saying that the car Freddy Foster had stolen had been found about twenty miles away and another vehicle had been taken. The police were sure it was their escaped convict.

Suddenly the whole house was lit up from the outside by floodlights which the police had installed making the perimeter of the house as bright as day and those inside could hear a generator humming away as well.

As the evening progressed sleeping arraignments were made for everyone. There wasn't enough beds to go around and no one wanted to be alone, but Jennifer insisted that the boys go to their room and try to get some sleep.

Not bothering to get undressed the two boys lay on top of the bed clinging to each other, "I hope the police shoot him rather than send him back to prison." Jordon said. Just then there was a knock on the door. After being told to come in Damien entered with Miles and Bentley, "We just got a call from the police and one of the guns he stole is a high powered rifle with a telescopic sight, so please boys don't go anywhere near the windows and don't put a light on in the house."

This really freaked out Jordon who broke down and began crying. Geoff was unable to pacify him so Miles took him in his arms cuddling and rocking him, gently assuring his young friend that everything was going to be all right. This is my entire fault." Jordon said between sobs, "Just because I was born an homosexual. If I was normal like other young guys none of this would have happened but I'm a freak and my father isn't going to stop until I'm dead."

Angrily Miles shook his young friend saying, "Don't talk like that Jordon, most of us here are the same way and yes we can't help it. But it doesn't mean someone should try to kill us. We are still human beings entitled to lead a long and happy life, so I don't want to hear that kind of talk ever again, understood?"

His angry tone shook Jordon to the core and he nodded yes before cuddling up closer to Miles who in turn took Geoff into his other arm so that he wasn't left out. Miles told Damien and Bentley that he would stay the night with the boys. They quietly left while the three of them lay back on the bed holding onto each other.

Eventually the two boys began to doze but Miles remained awake and alert all night long. Just as dawn was approaching the two boys woke up. Both of them headed for the bathroom while Miles went downstairs to see if there was any news. Damien shook his head saying that no one had sighted him through the night and it looked like he had gone underground for the time being.

Bentley true to form took over the kitchen and began cooking bacon and eggs for everyone including the security and police who came in one at a time to eat. By now a massive media contingent had gathered at the gate with reporters and TV crews from all over Canada and North America and more were arriving by the hour. The next sound they heard was a helicopter brought in to scour the country side by air to see if they could spot the escapee.

Several members of the security team were briefed on what to do with the livestock this morning as regards feeding and so on with the cow needing milking, eggs collected and horses fed. Luckily one of the guys on duty had some experience in milking so he was given the job of looking after the cow which brought a little bit of light-hearted brevity into the farm.

Being cooped up in the house all day not even being allowed to look out a window was beginning to take its toll on everybody's patience. With tempers becoming frayed, Jordon and Geoff decided to make themselves scarce and hide out in their bedroom. Making love was not an option due to the fact that both of them were to nervous and frightened, so it was just a passionate kiss and cuddle which eventually settled them down and they both slept.

It was dark when they were woken by a knock on the door with Damien telling them that dinner was ready. After washing up they made their way downstairs to find everyone waiting for them. Once again with Martha's help, Bentley had excelled himself in the culinary department.

It was Damien who passed on the news that no one had sighted Jordon's father over the past twenty four hours and also confirmed that when he stole the last vehicle that it had a high powered rifle in it capable of firing accurately from some distance away. The two boys then discovered that the downstairs windows had all been boarded up while they were asleep so no one could see in.

Jordon began once again to freak out and it took Damien and Miles using all their skills to calm him down, while Geoff just sat there tears rolling down his cheeks. Everyone it looked like was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and they all held hands around the table praying that Jordon's father would be recaptured very soon and locked away for a long time.

It was a hot stuffy night, very humid and the house not having or ever needing air conditioning became unbearable. What fans were in the home were going at full capacity but didn't achieve very much. Back in their bedroom Geoff and Jordon showered together before lying on top of the sheets naked. A knock on the door had them ducking very quickly under the covers before telling whoever it was to come in.

Miles walked in with a sleeping bag explaining that he would be sleeping on the floor in their room. They also noticed that he had a rifle with him, "just in case." He explained. Jordon still had some love in his heart for his first love even though it was long distance and he found it difficult to sleep knowing that next to him on the floor was a man he still loved. Sensing this, Geoff clung to his boyfriend all night making sure that he knew who he now belonged to.

It was about two in the morning with all three of them sleeping fitfully that a rifle crack was heard and just above Jordon's head some plaster from the wall fell on the boys. Miles quick as a flash pulled them both onto the floor before using his cell phone to alert everyone else including the police.

Searchlights began to pierce the darkness from where they thought the shot had come from but Freddy had quickly moved to another location. Again a shot rang out just above the bed on which the two boys had been resting. This time a hail of bullets was aimed in the general direction from which the gunfire had come from but once more Freddy Foster eluded them.

The next shot actually hit the bed and if the boys had still been in it one of them would most certainly had been hit. Both boys began crying out in fear and a ghostly laugh filled the air as Jordon's mad father thought he had hit one of them.

The police by now were beginning to close in and if they had to kill him then they would, but the orders were to try and take him alive. Miles had slowly crept up to the window his rifle sticking out through the broken glass and he fired several shots in the direction from which he thought Freddy was.

The next thing they heard was the sound of a vehicle revving up and moving towards the gate at a great speed. With security and police firing at it, the four wheel drive car stolen yesterday crashed through the gate heading straight for the front door. Being greeted by a hail of bullets Freddy Foster was determined to go down fighting and didn't at this stage care if he lived or died.

Crashing into the house caused the house to shudder and move on its foundation. The vehicle came to a halt with Freddy leaping out screaming obscenities and firing his rifle at random until he ran out of ammunition. He put his hands in the air to surrender but Jordon had enough snatching the rifle from Miles and he leant out of the window and shot his father through the chest killing him instantly.

The resulting cries and panic which followed was nothing compared to Jordon's reaction when he realized what he had done. Falling to the ground shaking and yelling uncontrollably with Geoff and Miles both trying to calm him down. The rest of the family followed by a large number of police officers entered the room asking Miles what had happened.

They took statements all through the night before taking Jordon downstairs for questioning. Jordon himself once he had calmed down appeared to be very cool but didn't attempt to go outside to see what he had done until the body of his late father was removed. A police expert in handling situations such as this spoke to Jordon getting his story down, "Why did you shoot you're father Jordon?" Was his first question.

"Because if I hadn't he would have continued to keep trying to hunt Geoff and I down and do the same to us. I had no option but to kill him." Was the calm reply.

"Do you realize that you could be arrested and tried for murder?"

"I don't care, I did what I had to do, it was him or me."

The police officer was amazed at the calm way that Jordon spoke while at the same time thinking that unless he received help this young man was heading for a breakdown. Once he had finished interviewing him and got his statement a doctor gave Jordon a sedative. He was moved into a bed which had been set up on the ground floor. Jennifer his mother and Veronica his sister also received treatment from the doctor and gradually an uneasy peace settled over the house for what remained of the night.

Poor Geoff was standing around looking totally dazed and out of it. He was originally refused entry into the room Jordon was resting in until Damien finally persuaded the police officer in charge that he should be with his boyfriend. Slowly walking into the room he was shocked to find a pale looking boy lying on a mattress asleep. He lay down next to him putting his arm around his lover as if protecting him and he too fell asleep.

It was noon before the boys woke up and Jordon was complaining of a headache. Sitting in the room with them was a police woman because technically Jordon was under arrest. The media outside were having a field day trying very hard to get a glimpse of the boy who shot his father. Security along with the police were hard pressed to keep them under control. His mother came into the room to see how he was. She was followed by his sister and it was plain to see that both of them had been crying most of the night.

They broke down again when they began to cuddle. Jordon, Geoff and soon all four of them were sobbing uncontrollably. Again the doctor was called and he gave them all a couple of pills to calm them down.

It was almost two hours later that the director of public prosecutions and a high ranking police officer arrived to inform Jordon formally that no further action would be taken against him because he acted in self-defence. They did both advise though that he should seek professional help to get over the shooting and his mother stated that she would make sure this happened.

Through all this drama and questioning Jordon appeared quite calm. Sitting there holding onto his boyfriends hand, not smiling but only crying when his mother and sister did. It was then that he realized Keith had arrived sometime during the night. He later found that he had landed by helicopter just after the shooting. Keith spent most of what was left of the night calming down Miles, his own partner who blamed himself for allowing Jordon to snatch the rifle from him and consequently shoot his father.

It appeared that everyone in the household had some sort of hang up and problem following the shooting and this was understandable. A couple of police trained councillors spent the next couple of days talking to all the family members.

Sadly Miles and Keith had to leave with the both of them hitching a ride to the airport in a police helicopter. Tears flowed as they left. Jordon was sorry to see his dear friends leave after what was such a short visit under circumstances that to say the least were out of the ordinary.

Miles still blamed himself for what happened and would do so for the rest of his life. Damien was trying hard to keep the whole thing together but wasn't doing too well. Bentley and Martha continued to cook tons of food for everyone but no one had much of an appetite.

Gradually the police presence was reduced, the media departed and Damien instructed the construction crew to return. The auctioneer rang to make sure that despite all the drama that the auction was going to go ahead as planned in a couple of days' time. Damien decided that the sooner things got back to normal the better, so he agreed that the sale should take place.

Damien tried his hardest to keep the boys and everyone else busy but noticed that every time Jordon passed the spot where his father died he began to cry. The family were not religious and did not regularly attend church but Jordon always crossed himself when he approached the fatal spot.

The auctioneer was quite excited at the reaction from the public, "While a lot of them will be just curious onlookers. Being able to have a look at the spot were so much drama took place they will also be tempted to bid, so a good outcome financially should be the outcome."

The day of the auction arrived and Martha and Bentley had stacks of food and drink for sale as the crowds flocked in. With the gates open to anyone security had their work cut out. Mainly they surrounded Jordon and Geoff making sure that no one came too close to them. Cameras were popping all the time but the two boys just wandered around with smiles on their faces.

Betsy and her friends from school arrived and more or less took over from security making sure their two friends had a good time if that was possible. The auction itself which was mainly excess farm equipment drew as the auctioneer predicted record bids and a lot of money was made on the day.

Martha and Bentley too were delighted selling just about everything and making a good profit as well. Jennifer was suffering badly, after all her husband had been killed by her son. She had little feeling for her husband but was grieving deeply for her son who was having trouble coming to terms with what he had done.

A group meeting after the auction followed and it was decided that life should continue as normal as possible, with home schooling for the boys and everyone else getting back to work.

Damien and Bentley had to return to Toronto to work but promised to return in about a week.

Veronica, Jordon's sister announced that her wedding to Eddie would continue as planned but then Damien dropped another bombshell after receiving a call from the coroner, "One fact we had forget or put to the back of our minds is the funeral of your father."

There was a stunned silence as everyone thought about this final act ...

TO BE CONTINUED.

Authors corner.

Well quite a dramatic chapter with lots of things happening including the shooting of Freddy Foster by his own son. Did anyone see that coming? I certainly didn't lol.

We never managed to find out how Fred and Martha were doing. That will be covered in the next chapter..

Was Jordon justified in taking his father's life? Please let me know what you think.

Now this was one heck of an exciting chapter. I cannot imagine how poor Jordon must feel having killed his own father. He is so young and yet he was forced to deal with such a horrible situation. One where he felt he had no other option but to take his fathers life. He had to do it in order to protect himself and his loved ones. Even though his father did not love him, to Jordon this was the father he grew up with and had feelings for. To be in a position where you feel you have no options but take your own fathers life must be very painful indeed.

Now the funeral should be very interesting as well. Definitely looking to see how it plays out. Will some of his high school jocks still continue to cause problems? Guess we will have to see where Trevor takes us on this one.

So for now, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as much as I did. Don't forget to let Trevor know your thoughts. They are very important to him.

Take care

Richie
