Gay

This is my first story that has chapters! My other story is Hayden's Story, it's here under the High School section. If you like this story then you should check it out because there are some similarities except this one doesn't have sex. So if that's what you were looking for I'm sorry. My shorter stories may have sex but this story will contain no sex, there may be references to sex, but I will not go into detail.

If you like this story, contact me at wah.stories@yahoo.com. I strongly encourage it. Also, If you want to be on my e-mail list to find out when the next chapter comes out, please include that in the email! I forgot to ask that for Hayden's Story, but one of my epic fans reminded me to do that.

-Mason's perspective-

Pulling out of Macy's driveway, I feel a tinge of regret. I basically made a move on him and then backed away! What if he tells Trey or Lizzie or one of his other friends and then the whole school finds out I'm bi? I'd lose all my friends and be nothing again. I wouldn't be able to get Spencer, he has a boyfriend. I'm sure that Daniel guy is gay, or bi, the way he stares at Spencer is just...it makes me jealous. I know I have no right to be jealous, since Spencer isn't mine, but I want him to be.

I drive back to my house and walk in the front door. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I shut the door and head towards the kitchen.

"How was your day, sweetie?" My mom asks as she hugs me.

"It was okay I guess."

"What's wrong?" She stopped cooking whatever she was cooking and sat down at the table.

I sat down across from her. "There's this guy at school."

"And you like him." My mom finished the story.

"That's not it though. He's gay, that's the good thing, but he also has a boyfriend. What makes it worse is that I have a girlfriend."

"I'm sorry, baby. Who do you like more though, Isabella or this boy?"

"Spencer."

"Now honey, he's gone, remember?"

"No. The guy I like now. His name is Spencer. It isn't the same Spencer though. It's just a coincidence."

"Is that why you like him?"

"What?"

"Do you like him because his name is Spencer? I remember when I was young. My first two boyfriends had the same names. The first one was real love, we were together for eight months before he cheated on me. The second one, I was only with him because his name was the same as my first boyfriend. It didn't last long."

"It's not his name, Mom. Spencer and I are working on a paper together for a project and we were at the library. Every time he talks to me I can't help but smile and listen to everything he says. I was barely able to concentrate on what we were doing because..." I know my mom knows I'm gay, but it's still awkward to say I was thinking about kissing and holding him.

"You were horny?" My mom had this serious look on her face.

I fell out of my chair and landed on my ass. I quickly got up off the floor. My face was starting to turn red. "What?! No! I was...! Mom!"

"I'm sorry, sweetie. But since you paused I just assumed..."

"I was definitely not going to say that, Mom. I may be a teenage boy but I'm not always thinking about sex. Anyway I wanna build up a relationship before I do anything like that with anyone."

"So you and Isabella haven't?"

"Mom! Please! Stop!" I had to hide my face, I was blushing that hard.

She got up and came around the table. She wrapped her arms around me. "I'm sorry, baby. I'm just a worried mother. I don't want to be a grandma at the age 34." My mom was a teen mom. She had me when she was 16. "I know all about being a teen parent and it's no fun. I just want to make sure you don't have to throw away your future like I had to."

You should know that my mom is a therapist, a well-known one at that. She wanted to be a lawyer, but taking care of a 3-year-old child as a single mother prevented her from dedicating all her hours to becoming a lawyer. She settled for therapist because they also help people, but it's not the way she wanted to.

My dad, well, he was an asshole essentially. When he found out Mom was pregnant, he left her, saying she cheated on him. Grandma and Grandpa told Mom that she could stay with them as long as she needed to but they would pay nothing for her unless it was dire and she would have to start paying rent when she turned 18. Luckily, her best friend babysat me while she went to college and worked. Once my mom finally got her degree, her best friend proposed to her. Her friend was a he by the way. He told her that he knew they had never dated, but he had strong feelings for her and wanted to be by her side. Like every fairy tale out there, she also was hiding her deep love for him.

They then soon got married and now I have a mom and a step-dad. I call him Dad though because he's literally always been there for me. He accepted me with open arms, along with Mom, when I came out to them. Once he and Mom married, it was his turn to go to college and get a degree, he's now an elementary school teacher.

"Mom, I know you aren't what you wanted to be, but you sure as hell didn't throw away your life. You have a great husband, extremely awesome children, and Alex." Alex is my little sister, she's only 7 but still a major bitch. In between us is my little brother Garret. He was born about two years after Mom and Dad got married, making him about 7 years younger than me, that's 10 for those of you who can't add or subtract."

"Be nice to your sister, Mason!" Mom said. She didn't look happy, she hated when I picked on Garret and Alex. "Now get back to Spencer and Isabella. Do you have any idea who you'd rather be with?"

"Izzy can be a bi...really mean girl sometimes. She hates Spencer for no reason and she barely ever tells me she likes me, she does brag that we make a cute couple though, but that's the only nice thing she has said about me."

"So you'd rather be with Spencer?"

"It's not that easy, Mom."

"You just went on and on about how Spencer makes you happy and then you say that `Izzy' is barely ever nice to you. Why would you want to be with someone like that, sweetie?"

"What if what happened at my last school happens here? I don't want to be picked on again, if it weren't for you and Dad I'd have ended it all."

She wrapped her arms around me. "Don't say that. I don't know what I would do without you. You were the only good thing in my life for a long time." She then let go, I could tell what I said nearly made her cry. "And if people do decide to be assholes then they can go fuck themselves. You are perfect and I'm sure you'd have great friends and a great boyfriend."

I swear my mouth hit the ground just then. My mom NEVER cusses. I've heard her do it once before and that was when she giving birth to Alex; she has an enormous head. The only reason I heard Mom was because I was sitting with Garret outside the room Mom and Dad were in and I had to cover his ears, leaving my ears open to hear what I thought was the end of Mommy and Daddy's marriage.

"Now, do you have any homework?" Mom asked as she went back to cooking.

"Very little since most of it was done at the library with...I guess I'll go do it now."

"Well dinner will be done in a short while, so tell Alex, Garret, and Dad that we'll be eating in about twenty minutes. And remember baby, I will always love you, no matter what you do."

"Yo! Mase!" Jordan said as I approached our breakfast table. It's Monday now so it's been two days since I was with Spencer. I called him yesterday and arranged for us to hang out on this upcoming Saturday and I could take him to the game. He said he would love to hang out but was unsure about the game. I eventually begged him into coming and dragging some of his friends with him.

"Hey dude." I said sitting down next to Izzy.

"So, tonight, me, you, Megan, and Isabella are all going to this fancy ass restaurant my dad's friend owns. We get to eat there for free, dude!"

"I'm not going if SHE is going." Izzy said, glaring at Megan. For some reason they hate each other but are both able to sit at the same table at breakfast and lunch.

"Well good. I heard there are no sluts allowed." Megan said, glaring right back at Izzy.

Izzy slammed her fists down on the table and was about to get up and attack. But Jordan slammed his fists on the table too and caused both Megan and Izzy to jump. "If EITHER of you two do any shit, I swear it will be the last time either of your asses will be seen with me or Mason. You clear?" He looked at both Izzy and Megan. They rolled their eyes and went back to ignoring each other's existence.

"I guess we could go." I said. "But it's up to Izzy. I don't want Izzy to feel awkward."

"We can go. But only because I know I'm not wanted." She stared at Megan.

"You are wanted there, baby doll." Jordan said to her. He winked and it made her giggle. Megan must've jabbed the heel of her shoe into his foot because he jumped and nearly cried out in pain while she smiled.

"So, our first game is this Saturday. We're meeting up at my place before the game so we can talk and other shit. You gonna be there."

I had already made plans with Spencer but I knew if I told Jordan that, he'd get pissed really quick. "He's hanging out with the little fag that day." Megan said. Great, she must've overheard me and Spencer on the phone.

"What?!" Jordan asked pretty loudly. "What the hell are you doing with him?"

"We were assigned to work on this project together and I want to end it as quickly as possible."

"Why don't you make him do the whole thing by himself and just write your name on it? I'm sure his little faggot ass would love to do that for you, thinking he'd be able to get between your legs."

My heart began to sink when Jordan said that. It completely broke in half when I replied. "I don't want the essay to sound all faggy so I have to be there with him."?

Jordan laughed. "That makes sense. But dude, you need to get your ass at my place."

"Dude, I can't. Sorry."

"Whatever. The cheerleaders are meeting up there too so Izzy will be there. Babe," he looked at Megan, "I want you to be there too. I know you aren't a cheerleader but what's a small `get together' if you aren't there."

"I guess I'll be there. Since I know I'm not wanted." Megan said, glaring at Izzy. This was seriously getting old. They do this almost every morning. The only time either one of them smiles around the other is when Jordan or I tells the other to stop being a bitch.

"So you're the only one not going to be there, dude." Jordan said to me. Just then some of the other football players and cheerleaders came into the cafeteria.

"Dude! You just missed it!" Tyler said. "We were playing basketball and the cheerleaders won." He was smiling, even though his ass was just handed to him.

"Well of course we won." Lily said. "You guys knew if we lost you'd get no pussy for the rest of the week."

"Exactly." Tyler said laughing. I then zoned out because I really didn't care about what they were talking about. Izzy, Jordan, and Megan jumped into the conversation and left me there to think by myself.

The bell soon rang, signaling it was time to go to first period. Izzy and I got up and headed out the door. "So, you know what the thing at Jordan's is supposed to be?" She said when we were far enough away from the others.

"What?"

"Sex party. People say it's best to not have sex the day of a game, but Jordan decided to see what happens if everyone on the team has sex. That's why you have to be there."

"I can't make it, Izzy. And you know I'm not ready for that. Why would I want our first time to be at a party with others around."

"To show off your nice package and make all the girls jealous." Like always, it was to make her better looking and not to compliment me.

"I said no, Izzy. I'm sorry."

"God! It's just sex. You're acting like we're getting married." We then reached the hallway where we had to split. "See ya." I didn't respond and left her. I knew I'd pay for it later but I was too pissed at her and Jordan to say anything nice to any of them.

"Thanks for picking me up." Spencer said as he climbed into the passenger seat. Today is Saturday and it's going to be the first time Spencer and I have actually hung out and not do school work. "So where are we going."

"Well, I was thinking we could go get something to eat and then head over to my place so we can play some football."

He looked at me with a shocked look. "You're kidding me right? Me? Playing football? That's like you doing ballet."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, we're going to play a little one-on-one. And after that we can play some video games."

"Can't we just skip the football and say we did it." I smiled at that because I wish I could tell people I did it with Spencer. I think he got it and he turned away so I couldn't see his face.

"We have to actually do it before we tell people we did it."

"I just...I meant...nevermind...pervert." I smiled and kept driving. Spencer kept looking out the window, refusing to look at me the whole ride there. I wanted to say something but I was on the verge of laughing and I didn't want to make him feel too embarrassed.

When we finally arrived at Giovanni's, it's an Italian restaurant that isn't too fancy, it's like right between fancy and fast food, Spencer started to talk to me again. I love Italian food and hope Spencer does too because if we ever start to date, this is where we'll go at least once a week.

"How did you know I love Italian?!" Spencer said smiling.

"Who doesn't?" I said laughing. "And I honestly didn't know if you liked Italian or not. This is my favorite restaurant."

"I've never been here before. Hopefully I'll like it."

"You'll have to learn to if you don't."

"Why do you say that?" Spencer said as we walked inside. The smell of spaghetti, garlic, pizza, and everything else Italian entered my nose all at once. Both Spencer and I let out an involuntary yum sound.

"What do you want?" I asked Spencer.

"I want...spaghetti with meat sauce and breadsticks."

"Okay. Why don't you go find us a table while I order our food."

"Here, I'll give you the money to buy my food." Spencer dug out his walled and started to look for some money.

"Don't worry, I'll pay for it all."

Usually when I say that, the person I'm with refuses and we get into a mini fight over who is paying, I always win though. But this time was different. Spencer said, "Okay," and went to find a table. I couldn't help but smile as I watched him walk away. I was so distracted that the woman at the cash register had to snap in order to get my attention.

"Sorry. Umm...I would like two large spaghettis, lots of breadsticks, and two medium drinks." I knew Spencer wouldn't eat all the spaghetti, but I wanted to make sure he had enough to fill him up.

Once I got the number for the waiter to find us, I went to find Spencer. He was sitting at a table for two. I walked up and sat down across from him. "Where's our food?" Spencer asked.

I held up the number. "When this sounds, we get our food."

"Oh god. That means the food is expensive. Why did you pay for my food then?"

"Because, I wanted to."

"Well next time I'm paying for your food."

I smiled. "Next time?"

"You know what I mean." He got quiet and started to blush.

"I'm sorry. It's just...I like making you blush. It's funny."

"Well not for me. I blush because I feel like I said something stupid and made myself look like an idiot."

"You're not an idiot, dude. Don't you have straight A's?"

"Well yeah, but-"

"No buts. You're smart."

"I still feel like an idiot. Even if you don't think I am one."

It got quiet. I wanted to say something, but everything I thought of would hint that I like him. The waiter soon came and gave us our food. He was pretty cute, but nothing compared to Spencer. We thanked him and he went back to work. He looked to be a college student, so I decided I'd leave him a tip.

"Mmm! This spaghetti is delicious! I don't think I'll be able to eat it all though." Spencer said.

"That's okay, I wanted to make sure you had enough. If you don't eat it all I won't get mad or anything so don't feel bad if you can't eat it all."

"Thank god. I was scared I'd upset you." He then took a huge fork-full of spaghetti, the sauce got all over his chin, he looked so cute.

"Do I look like an asshole?"

He looked up and stared at me for a little while. "Do you want me to be honest or do you want me to lie?"

"Honesty is the best policy." I said.

"Then no, you look like a nice guy. You know, I'm surprised you're nice to me. I know I have straight friends and they don't care that I'm gay, but I never thought a jock would accept me."

"I was raised to be nice to everyone, no matter who they are."

"Well then, I can't wait to meet your mom and dad. They did a great job raising you."

"Mom will love you more than I do. But for Dad, well he's my step-dad. My real dad left my mom when he found out she was pregnant."

"Aww. I'm sorry. My dad died when I was 5. He was hit by a drunk driver. Mom has vowed to never marry ever again. Megan and I have told her that dad would hate that she's lonely, but she keeps saying it's the right thing to do. I hope she changes her mind soon though. I can tell life is getting hard on her."

"I'm sorry, Spencer. I'm sure your mom will find someone and realize that she needs to date again."

"Me too. I love her too much to see her alone with like thirty cats. She already has two. It's only a matter of time before she gets more."

I couldn't help but laugh. "How come you aren't the talkative one in your group of friends? When I look over at your table you're usually listening and you barely talk, but with me you talk a lot and make me laugh all the time."

"When I'm nervous I usually talk a lot. Sorry."

"Don't be. And why are you nervous?"

"I'd rather not talk about that." Spencer said. He ate his food and didn't give me any eye contact. I really wanted to see his cute blue eyes, but I guess I ruined that.

Surprising both me and himself, Spencer actually ate all his spaghetti. I congratulated him on his accomplishment and he thanked me but said if he moved too fast he'd lose it all. We left the waiter dude a pretty good sized tip. Since Spencer didn't pay for the food he decided he'd put down what I put down, so we each placed down twenty dollar bills and left.

"Are we really going to play football?" Spencer asked as we drove to my house.

I smiled. "Yes we are. If you don't want to play one-on-one then I can get my bro and dad to play against us."

"I'd rather not embarrass myself in front of your whole family. I know nothing about football."

"Don't worry. I'll teach you some and then when you come to the game you'll be able to learn a little more."

"I forgot all about the game! I used all my money for the tip. Mom thought that twenty dollars was way too much for lunch, the ticket for tonight, and a snack or two. I guess she was wrong."

"Again, don't worry. Dad will pay for you if he knows you don't have the money and we won't take no for an answer."

"I feel like a bum. First you pay for me to eat and now your dad is going to pay for me to go to a football game."

"Please don't think about it that way. Think about it as if we are spoiling you to make your mom realize she needs a man to keep you and Megan in line."

"In that case you should give me your car." Spencer said smiling. We continued to talk until we reached my house. He looked shocked to see my place. I don't know why though, it's about the size of his house.

"What is it?" I ask him.

"I just thought that someone like you would live in like a mansion with butlers and maids and...yeah."

"Well, not all of us are blessed to be born beautiful, smart, and rich."

"I'm none of those, sadly."

"You're smart and you have a boyfriend so you gotta at least be cute."

"I don't see it." I definitely did. "But people have told me over and over that I'm cute."

I wanted to say something, but couldn't, so we silently walked up to my front door and walked in. "Mom! Dad! I have a friend over!" I shouted as I shut the door. Spencer looked around my living room as if he'd just walked into a parallel universe.

"Who is it, sweetie?" Mom said as she came out from the kitchen. She looked over at Spencer and smiled. "You must be Spencer? Mason has talked about you so much. I was wondering when he was going to bring you home." She said.

I dropped my head in defeat. I try so hard to stay in the closet, but Mom opens the doors and lets everyone in. "Y-Yeah. I'm Spencer." He said smiling and blushing.

"Mom. You make it sound like Spencer and I are dating."

She then got the message that I brought him over as a friend and not a boyfriend. "I'm sorry, sweetie. You know how mothers are though. Always trying to embarrass their babies."

Spencer smiled and I blushed a little. "Okay Mom. Spencer and I are going up to my room. Is Dad here? I need to ask him something."

"He and Garret went to get some snacks for tonight's game. You know how Garret doesn't like concession stand food."

I smiled. "I nearly forgot he's the pickiest person on this Earth. Could you please tell Dad to come up to my room when they get back."

"I sure will, honey. You two have fun and be good up there."

"We will Mrs. Glover. I won't let Mason get out of line." Spencer said.

"I need you around a lot more then, Spencer. This boy here doesn't know how to mind his manners." Before my mom and Spencer could start a full-fledged conversation, I pushed Spencer up to my room.

"I thought we were going to play football?" Spencer asked as we walked into my room.

"I decided to save that for later. I don't think it's a good idea to go outside and run around with full stomachs."

"There wouldn't be a lot of running around since you'd have to stop and explain the rules to me every five minutes."

"I'm sure you don't forget things that fast."

"I do if I don't think they're interesting." He said as he sat down on my bed.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick. Don't move." I left him in my room and jogged down to the bathroom. I took a quick tinkle and came back in the room. When I got in there, Spencer had a frown on his face. "What's wrong?"

"I just got a text from Daniel. Apparently the football players and cheerleaders are suppose to meet at Jordan's. I guess you'll have to take me home then."

I smiled. "I knew about the party. I'm not going. I told Jordan that I had to hang with you today and I want to keep that promise."

He then smiled. "Oh. Okay. Sorry if I was acting too gay for you just then. I just, I really wanted to hang out with you and I thought that you'd put me last in your life."

I wanted to tell him I wanted him to be my first worry but like always, that would out me in a heartbeat. "I thought we already established the fact that I'm not an asshole. And we have also talked about Jordan being a fucktard. So why would I choose him over you?"

"Because you two are friends."

"Well you're my friend too." After that we played a few games on my X-box and watched a little TV. Dad eventually came up to see what I wanted and I told him about Spencer's dilemma. He smiled and said he'd love to pay for Spencer to get in. Times like these make me wish that he was my real dad.

Once it was time to go, Spencer and I got into my car while Garret and Dad got into Dad's car. We were off to the football game. Spencer was texting someone, most likely Macy, he told me she was the only one who was able to go to the game.

We got there right on time. I left Spencer with my dad and Garret and told them to be nice to Spencer. I noticed that he had no jacket so I dug out my jacket from the back seat of my car and let Spencer put it on.

When the game was finally ready to be started, I looked up into the crowd as we were running out on to the field and saw Spencer sitting between Macy and my dad with a small bag of chips and a drink in his lap. I'm pretty sure he couldn't tell I was looking at him, but he did smile at me.

Every time I read a story of Nifty, I never read the top part, so just in case you are like me and only read the bottom portion if you liked the story, here is my email again: wah.stories@yahoo.com. Also, if you want to be on my email list to find out when new chapters come out, include that in your email. AND if you email me, please state what story you're referring to. Thanks for reading the ninth chapter of my story.

I'd also like to give thanks to my editor, John. He's like majorly epic and catches my mistakes. I make a lot of them so he deserves as much credit as I do for getting this chapter out. And check out Hayden's Story and Gavin's Got Game, they're here in the High School section, if you like this story.

Also, I want this story to be somewhat interactive, where yo tell me what you'd like to see happen next. There are no guarantees if it will make it, but there are possibilities. I already have some things planned out, but most are too obvious. I need you al to help me think of new things that no other story has. You will also get credited for that chapter so that's another plus :)

Also, check out one of my friend's youtube channel. It's karinnanazario. If you can't find it, then email me and I'll send you some linkage. Like me, she's an inspiring internet sensation and she needs your help as much as I need yours. And tell your friends about her too. Thanks!
