Supernatural: Outer Beings

"How long are we going to drive until you talk to me again?" I asked.

"You went to see the Winchesters, behind my back." John said.

"You were in and out of consciousness!" I said, "They needed to see me."

"So, what'd you guys talk about?" John asked.

"Are you just asking or do you really want to know?" I asked.

"I don't even care." John frowned, "Was that an exit?"

"Where are we even going?" I asked.

Martin handed me a newspaper, "A guy claiming to be able to draw things that happen." He said.

"What's our cover?" I asked.

"Cover?" John asked.

Chapter 38: Drawn To Pieces

"So, you sold your soul for the ability to draw?" John asked.

"Yes." Billy said.

"And you didn't know that drawing things can make them come to life?" Martin asked.

"Wow, maybe we should all sell our souls for world peace." I said.

John gave me a warning look.

"Right, cause that would only...wait...wouldn't that be sacrifice? I am totally awesome for coming up with that. I call dibs." I said.

"Damn you!" Martin swore.

"Would both of you please shut up?" John asked angrily, "Now, how did this happen?"

"One night, I was trying to reach for something in my dorm and all of a sudden, I fell..."

"All of a sudden?" I asked.

"Go on." John said.

"...I broke bones in my hand, bones that I needed to draw. Without my ability to draw, my scholarship was void. I'd get thrown out onto the curb. I couldn't afford to." Billy explained.

"Tell us about how you came to own the robot devil's hands." Martin said.

I chuckled, but stopped when John gave us another dirty look.

"It's a futurama..."

"Chalis." John said.

"No offense, but how can the three of you help me?" Billy asked.

"We are De-Mon hunters." Martin said.

"Who is D-Mon?" Billy asked.

"What he means is...uh...we..." John stammered.

"We're hunters, we hunt demons." I said, "All the oogety boogety things that live in the shadows."

Billy looked at us, not in shock, but in fear.

"You believe us, right?" John asked.

"He has to, the whole devil's hand thing isn't exactly normal." I frowned, "Right?"

"You're all insane." Billy said, "But yeah, I believe you."

"Good, the hard part's over." I said quickly. In my mind, I already knew that the hard part for him wasn't over. Spells, especially black magic, always have a catch and back-fires. I knew that after the demon was gone, the magic would be gone too. I couldn't heal, not yet. Healing was something upper level witches could. Maybe I'd done it before, but I paid the price. Next time, it could be a bigger price, it could burn me in a way that would make Hell sound like...well, not Hell.

"What's going to happen when you undo this?" Billy asked.

John and Martin looked at him, then slowly found their way to me.

I bit my lip, "I don't know." I said.

"Chalis..." John said softly.

"I don't know." I said, harsher than I wanted it to, "Different spells and with black magic...it's all..."

"I'll lose it, won't I?" Billy asked, "It's my soul, or my life."

I looked at him solemnly, "Did this man have a name?" I asked.

"It was a girl." Billy said, "A woman."

"It always is." I said.

"Lilith?" Martin asked.

"No, Lilith is high level, this is more of grunt work. Lilith is breaking seals." John said.

"Seals?" Billy asked.

"Oh, just bringing Lucifer to Earth." Martin said.

"Oh." Billy said, "What?!"

"What do you need to undo the spell?" John asked.

"Pentagram, candles, salt, and..." I stopped, "Blood."

"Blood?" John asked.

"This is some deep magic, deeper than I'm used to." I said.

"But you can do it, right?" Billy asked.

"I'll try." I said, walking over to the closet and looking around.

John walked up behind me, "Can you do this?" he asked.

"I don't know." I said, "It's risky."

"If it could get his soul back..."

"Not just for him, for me too." I said.

John looked at me with realization, "Then you can't do it." He said, "There's gotta be another way."

"I already promised. I gave him my word." I said quickly, "This is a dark place."

John put his hand on my shoulder, "You don't have to do it." He said.

"I know." I said, "I need those supplies. We need to get started."

"This guy can make bad things come to life." John said, "I'm not sure we can trust him."

"There's a demon out there with a contract on this guy." I said, "I can't really let this go now."

"I bet if Sam asked you would." John sighed, turning from me.

I grabbed his shoulder, "Hey," I said quickly, "I would defy him too. I don't live inside anyone's rules."

"You're not well enough to do this." John said.

I nodded, "What if some kid makes a deal like this? You heard Sammy and Dean, the seals are being broken everyday and if Apocalypse comes, nobody will be safe." I frowned.

"Doesn't mean you should give your life for one demon." John said.

"Isn't that the mission statement?" I asked.

"You're going to leave me alone with Martin." John said.

"I'm not dying." I smiled, "Not tonight."

John nodded and started to walk away.

"Hey, there could be some Grudge-type stuff going on here tonight, so...be aware." I said.

John said nothing, he just walked away.

Later that night...

I sat in the middle of a pentagram, looking around at the candles and the symbols and I found myself wondering if I could actually do this. The text was, of course, Latin. I still wasn't too into Latin, but I was trying not to freak out. That wasn't what was really wrong, the whole "I could die" thing was so off-putting, naturally. I focused all my energy on reading the text, not looking at any of the three guys.

"EGO dico super vox of Obscurum , addo mihi ut vultus of malum. Ostendo sum thy ego ut mihi ut EGO may." I said calmly, but something came over me, something strange and my speaking fastened and I began panting harder, "animadverto obscurum intus! Illustro mihi , exigo malum ut commoror is sanctus vas. Laxo quis has iam been perfectus , paro is vir solvo." [i]

"You." A dark feminine voice said.

I looked up to see a woman standing in front of us. John immediately raised his gun while Billy and Martin just stood looking even more scared than they had been.

"What do you want?" The woman asked. I knew that this was no woman. She might have been once, but all that was left of her was her body. She was so beautiful, like evil would look. Dark hair, dark eyes, full lips, really nice breasts (If I were straight I'd tap that.) and of course something very...off about her.

I tried to stand, but settled for sitting, "I want you to take my friend's hands away, give him his back." I said.

"You want me to? You can barely stand!" The woman smirked, "What are you going to give me?"

"How about I won't exorcise you back to Hell?" I asked.

"You don't have the power." She said.

"I do have a gun." John said.

The woman smirked even more, "Unless it's the Colt, you're not going to kill me. And I know it's not the Colt, Lilith has that."

The mood shifted.

"She knows what you're doing." The woman said, "She's amused."

"Holy..." Martin began.

"We're not going to let her bring Lucifer back." I frowned, finally standing.

"I also know you're not exactly helping the Angels. We all know." She said, "We can all smell it on you."

"What are you talking about?" John asked, his gun still pointed at her.

"Your little pain in my ass is falling from grace pretty quickly. He's going to fall hard." Finally the woman smiled, but it was so creepy that it made me cringe.

John looked at me and I looked at him. He was trying to find it in my face, some inkling of truth, but I looked away.

"Personally, I can't wait until you're on our side; you seem like a real pistol." The demon said.

"Purgo immunda res , deleo is everto ex meus os , iacio is tergum in igneus depths of Abyssus[ii]!" I chanted breathlessly.

The demon hit me so hard that I flew across the room! John immediately began firing, hitting her with every bullet, but not doing any damage! Martin sprung into action, getting thrown back into the mirror, shattering it! Billy stood, watching as John was punched and kicked, then thrown through the glass door to his living room.

"Purgo immunda res , deleo is everto ex meus os , iacio is tergum in igneus depths of Abyssus!" I shouted from the floor, "I cast you out, in the name of the father!"

The demon stopped, looking directly at me, "You'll be her most powerful weapon." She said as the body fell to the ground and the cloud of black smoke disappeared.

I sighed, "Good, now all we have to do is undo the demonic magic." I panted.

"What? Why can't I keep my hands?" Billy asked.

"They're demonic, they make bad stuff happen." I said, standing. I walked over to Martin and checked his pulse, "My friend's okay, we just need..."

I noticed that Billy grabbed a pencil and paper.

"That doesn't make any sense, the power should have gone with the demon." I said.

Billy ignored me.

"Billy..." I said carefully.

Billy was drawing but stopped and looked at me, "I drew this before I met you...the hands drew this." He said flashing a picture before my eyes. It was the exact situation that was happening right now, "And this." He said, showing me a picture of me with my eyes blacked out, "And this." He said, showing the last one with me lying in a pool of my own blood.

I looked at the pictures, then him again, "What else have you been drawing?" I asked.

"I drew you killing the demon and me keeping my powers." Billy said.

"I can't let this happen to you." I said.

"You're going to fall from grace." Billy said, "You're in worse shape. This is my last hope. It's all I have."

"Then I'm sorry." I said, "But you can't have it."

Billy dropped the pad and pencil and reached down to pick up John's discarded gun, "I'll take it." He said, aiming at me. I closed my eyes as he was about to pull the trigger only to hear a shot. I waited, but I felt nothing and I opened my eyes to see Billy falling to the floor. I looked over to see John barely holding his gun, then he slumped over to the floor.

I ran to him and kneeled down beside him, "Wake up." I said.

"And...I was worrying about you." John smiled.

-

I sat alone inside the room of the barn, looking out onto the farm. It was beautiful. I couldn't help but wonder if I could have saved him. I should have been able to save him! How can I be so defenseless? How could I be so vulnerable that I fall from grace? And how in the hell am I in grace right now? I'm no angel. What could I do in the future that was so bad? I had taken the sketchbook, flipped through it. There was destruction, pictures of angels and demons at war. Sam vs. Dean. Another boy that I didn't know. John...dead. Martin alone in a room. Me. There were sketches of me wielding some serious magic. The trouble is that I had no idea what any of it meant.

"You are having trouble with falling?" Castiel's voice said behind me.

"With the war going on, you have time to come and talk to something as lowly as me?" I asked.

"Someone." Castiel said.

I looked at him for the first time, "How could I fall? I'm doing the right thing." I said.

"You're doing things for the right reason." Castiel said.

I swallowed, "If I fall to evil..."

"You are not evil." Castiel said, "But you do fall."

I looked at him, "What's this all about?" I asked.

"Power." Castiel said.

[i] I call upon the powers of Darkness, bring me to the face of evil. Reveal thy self to me so that I may see the darkness within! Illuminate me, drive out the evil that inhabits this holy vessel. Undo what has already been done, set this man free

[ii] Cleanse the unclean thing, erase this demon from my sight, cast it back into the fiery depths of Hell!
