Peyton awoke from his nap and snuck outside onto the deck where Jaiden was sitting, putting his arms around Jaiden's neck and resting his hands on his husband's chest. "Hey, babe, did you enjoy your nap?" "Tremendously, love, how about you?"

"Peyton, what do you see in the backyard?" "Children; lots and lots of children!" "So, sweetheart, what do you think is the answer to your question?" "Uh, no." "Uh, you are correct, Peyton."

"Damn, he's back!" "Whose back, Jaiden?" "Take a whiff, babe." "I thought we killed the bear and got rid of him." "We did; he's in our, Ginny's, and Granny's freezer." "Then where is this bear smell coming from?" "From experience back home, my guess is that we have a litter in the forest behind the house."

"I wonder why?" "The answer to that question is simple: bears like sex like we do, and they like to have it as often as possible."

"Gees, what would we do if we could only have sex twice a year?" That's a simple question to answer, Peyton." "And how is that so?" "Easy, handsome, we'd only have sex twice a year!" "Perish that thought, Jaiden!" "Yeah, I agree; twice a year wouldn't be enough sex in anybody's book – except, maybe, a bear's." "Jaiden, you are hilarious." "Not hilarious, babe; horny."

"Well, when the children nap, do you want to do something about that?"

"Come sit on my lap." "Dang, Jaiden, it feels like you have the kale light in your pants." "Just about, and it needs to let some power off the batteries." "By new batteries, do you mean do you mean it needs some `RELIEF'?" "Yep."

"Peyton, have you put on some weight lately?" "Why would you ask me a question like that, handsome?" "Because your ass-bone is sticking into my leg, and it feels heavier and sharper than I remember it." "That's a mean thing to say, Jaiden!"

"Awe, gorgeous, don't take offense at what I said; we're both doctors and I `need' to examine your butt very carefully."

"Really! Why's that?" "I need to see if it is still the cutest, best butt in town." "You know it is, Jaiden, and you know it is reserved only for you." "Mm, that sounds inviting!" "It sounds inviting because it is inviting. Roll over a little bit."

Peyton rolled over, and when he did, Jaiden slid his hand into his husband's pants copping a feel of his gorgeous bubble butt.

Peyton noticed Jaiden shut his eyes as he ran his hand over the mounds of his butt. "You seem to like what you are feeling!" "Nope, not at all." "What do you mean by `nope, not at all?'

"What Í mean is that I love what I am feeling. This spot right here (Jaiden touched a spot of skin right at the bottom and to the right of Peyton's butt crack) is the softest spot on your body."

"So that's why you always feel that spot." "Yep."

Babe, I must check out that spot on your butt."

Jaiden rolled to his left a bit and said, "Have at it, babe, and let me know what you think: Is it the softest spot of skin or not?"

Peyton ensured the boys weren't watching when he slid his hand into Jaiden's pants and felt the spot in question. "I have never noticed that Jaiden. As often as I have palmed your beautiful glutes, I have never noticed that." "You have now, and in just a little bit, you can play with it until the boys awaken – well, the boys and one girl."

"Speaking of one girl, where are Dale and Charley?" "They're in their room having a good time. They needed time alone, so I told them to have fun while I watched the children. Charley was hanging onto Dale, and he went sailing up the steps to their room with Dale's body flying like a kite."

"Charley must have been hard up!" "Well, he was hard, and he was up, so I'd say you are right. The children never noticed that their dads went inside."

"Dale and Charley are walking into the living room as we speak, and Charley looks immensely satisfied, and so does Dale."

"They probably are since they've been in their bedroom for almost three hours. They were going at it so hard at one point that you could hear their mattress bouncing out here on the deck. It wasn't too bad until Chuck asked what the noise was."

"What did you tell him?" "I told him it was the sound of the tree limbs making noise as the breeze flowed through them."

"And he was satisfied with that answer?" "Thank goodness, yes. When I told him that, he turned and returned to the backyard. He said he was `going to play in the back garden' like he did at Aunt Donna's back in the UK." They really loved that sweet lady, didn't he?" "More than we knew at the time, Peyton." "Well, she is a sweet lady, and she seemed to love playing with the children, especially when we all went to the park in upper Peterborough. She got a kick from watching the children crawling in and out of the burial mound and getting so dirty in the mud at the entrance."

"Donna made the boys a `spot of tea,' as she called it, and I think that is when they started loving the drink – with a little cream in it."

"Don't forget the cube of sugar!" "How can you? The children kept asking `Auntie Donna' for more, and she kept pouring them tea like my mother would."

"Talking about your mother, Peyton, she has really interfered with my life."

"What a mean thing to say; what do you mean by saying that?"

"It's just that I had gotten so content being alone most of the time, and she went and gave birth to you. When I saw you walking across the campus at Wellstone, I saw stars, my head went numb, and I knew you were the one for me. I knew I would never be alone again and would always be happy, even if we argued about anything. The trouble is, we have never argued about anything – ever!"

"You know, Jaiden, I have never thought about that. You have made me so happy that I haven't had time to let anything bother me. We gave each other five handsome, sweet boys and never looked back. Even with the stress of medical school, we never argued. Everything that has happened since we met has only grown our family and made it stronger and more loving. Richard, Seth, and getting closer to Jenny and her family, something I didn't think was possible, but we did it."

"Yeah, Peyton, we did. I love you so much that it hurts when we are at work, and I want to grab you and plant one smack dab on your lips. I'm not worried about the office staff, or the hospital's staff for that matter; I don't want to make somebody feel uncomfortable."

"You would be thoughtful in that regard, love, but I don't think anyone would mind – everybody in town knows we are married, that we have a large family, and love abounds in our home. Next time you have the urge to grab me and plant one on my lips, do it! People don't have to watch if they don't like it."

"You're right, Peyton! The next time the urge hits me, look out because I will act on it."

"Ooh, that sounds so fun and sexy." "Down, son, playtime is coming." "Do you promise, Jaiden?" "Oh yeah, I promise."

When Jaiden said what he did about Peyton's `ass-bone' sticking into his leg, he had forgotten about the children playing in the back garden – and under the deck. Abraham and Mark walked onto the deck and asked, "Daddy, we heard you say Daddy Peyton's ass-bone was sticking in your leg. What is an ass-bone?"

"Boys, do you remember when you were riding your Razor Scooters in the driveway, and you fell on your bottoms and said it hurt the bone in your bottoms?" "Yes, Sir." "Well, that bone in your bottom is your hiney bone." "But you said `ass-bone,' Daddy; is it an ass bone or a hiney bone?"

"It's a hiney bone, son. I'm sorry, Daddy used a bad word to describe Daddy Peyton's hiney bone. You can figure out a punishment for me and I will do whatever you say."

"Daddy, we don't want to punish you. I think you should have to take a long nap with Daddy Peyton." Abraham, have I told you lately how much I love you?" "You tell me that all the time, Daddy, and we love you and Daddy Peyton too." "Thank you, buddy. By the way, the real name for the hiney bone is the coccyx bone. I'll make sure I use the right name of the bone from now on."

"Thanks, Daddy. Knowing the right names of my bones and body parts will help me when I become a doctor like you and Daddy Peyton."

Peyton looked at Jaiden, and both had a little shock showing on their faces. None of the children had ever mentioned that they would like to be doctors like their daddies.

"Boy, that was surprising, Jaiden." "I'll say, wait until our parents find out what their grandchildren said they want to be; talk about being surprised."

"Hey, Peyton, this is Mom. Have you heard what happened with your brother?" "Which brother, Mom, I have three." "Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. I'm talking about Seth."

"I haven't heard anything from Richard, Mom; what happened to Seth?" "Peyton, you and Jaiden know how hardheaded and precocious he can be; he decided to take the veterinarian medical boards early to see what they would be like when he graduates in two semesters." "And Mom?" "The young man passed the boards with perfect scores. Your Dad has been in tears all week; he is so very proud of Seth, and so am I." "We all are, Mom!"

"Does Richard know?" "I don't know. I was hoping Seth would let me know, and then he called this morning and told your dad he could tell Richard. He's on the phone with your brother right now." "Good, I'll call Richard tonight and congratulate him and Seth." "Do that, son; it'll mean the world to him."

About fifteen minutes later, The Riley-Reynolds-Anderson-Leonard's doorbell rang. Jaiden answered the door and yelled for Peyton to come to the formal living room. When Peyton entered the room, Richard and Andrew were standing at the door, with Andrew holding his little brother. Tears were streaming down their faces, and when Peyton approached Richard, he collapsed into Peyton's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Richard, what's wrong, bro?" "Peyton, if it hadn't been for you and Jaiden ... Richard's voice trailed off. Peyton held his brother until he calmed down and led him to the den.

"What do you mean if it hadn't been for me and Jaiden, Richard?" "I know Mom told you what Seth did. If it hadn't been for you and Jaiden, I probably would have never finished medical school and Seth probably would have never gone to vet school. Because of you and Jaiden, our lives have been so full and much happier than they would have been otherwise, and Seth and I have the family we always wanted. If it hadn't been for you and Jaiden ... Richard began sobbing again as his voice trailed off.

"Richard, Jaiden, and I started what we did because our families, and we loved you and Seth unreservedly and wanted you to be part of our family. You earned and deserve whatever anyone has done for you; you need to understand that."

"I hope we somehow earned what you all have done for us, Peyton." "Hope, Richard. You have worked your ass off to show us your appreciation, and you didn't have to, and neither did Seth. You are the brothers I always wanted and never had until we met in medical school. I don't think you know just how much I, we, love you." "Peyton, Seth, and I feel the love, believe me."

Jaiden was sitting in a chair by the French doors in the den, watching the children as tears flowed rapidly across his face. He got up, walked to Richard, and pulled him into a strong bear hug, holding him for the longest. Neither of the young men had to say a word; it was evident.

Peyton asked Jaiden, "Love, do you think we should call Tony and tell him." "I think that would be a nice idea, Peyton; he loves us like we are his blood."

"Tony, this is Peyton. how are you doing this beautiful afternoon?" "Beautiful afternoon? It may be in Erie, but here in Brevard, we are having a horrific thunderstorm with high winds from Hurricane Martha off the east coast. In two days, we have caught up with our rain shortfall!" "Then, would you like some exciting news?" "About what?" "More like about whom." "And?"

Do you remember how impetuous and hardheaded my newest little brother is?" "Who can forget? That young man sets his mind to do something and accomplishes it against all odds."

"Well, Tony, he has done it again. He busted a gut to take the veterinarian medical boards early to see what they would be like and how he would need to study for them." "And Peyton?"

"He passed the medical boards on the first try with a perfect score!"

"Peyton, are you kidding me?"

"Not in the least, Tony. Mom called thirty minutes ago and gave us the news. Dad was so surprised and happy that you could hear him balling in the background."

"Wow, bro, that is amazing! I am going to be in Jacksonville the day after tomorrow, so I'll give him a call and take him out to celebrate! Tell you what, if you want to make it a long weekend, I'll fly you guys and the children down, and we can all celebrate in style."

"That sounds awesome, Tony. The children love to fly on jets and will be so excited they will barely be able to contain themselves. Let me talk to Jaiden to get his thoughts. We have Friday off due to a Pennsylvania holiday, so I don't see a problem in a weekend trip at this point." "Don't forget to talk to Dale and Charley, `y'all' includes them!" "OK, I'll do that as soon as I hang up; both are sitting next to me, wondering what the heck we are talking about."

"Peyton, I'll be at Ruth Criss' tonight, so call me at the restaurant around 7:00 and let me know the decision." "Will do, Tony; thanks!" "You bet, Peyton."

"Jaiden, Tony said he wants to fly us down to Jacksonville Friday to surprise Seth and take him out to dinner to celebrate his passing the veterinary boards; he said to ask if it's OK with you."

"Peyton, it's OK with me, but Charley and Dale might feel slighted if they don't get to go, and what about Richard and his family?" "Charlie, Dale, and all ten children are invited on the trip and their plane tickets will be paid for by Tony, and I assume the same is true for Richard, Sally, and their two boys."

"If not, we'll pay for them to go. They deserve something good after all they have done for others."

"And while I am on the subject, I want Ginny, Gampy, Granny, and the Reverend to go, so talk to them. We'll pay for their tickets and their hotel rooms. Oh, and what about your parents?"

"Mom and Dad are flying to Jacksonville on Wednesday and making a long weekend of the trip. And from what I was told, Jenny and her crew are also flying down on Wednesday. It's a rarity for a Jewish family to have seven doctors in one family, eight if you include Peter." "Peyton, your dad is on cloud nine, isn't he?"

"Man, what are you talking about? Dad has jumped over the moon at least ten times and has cloud nine lined in Corinthian leather and memory foam."

"So, are you saying he has settled in on cloud nine?"

"Babe, that would be an understatement. The only thing that could possibly make him and mom happier was if we had all been born into the family."

"Richard, this is Jaiden. Have you talked to Tony this afternoon?" "Yes, he called about fifteen minutes ago and asked if we could fly down for a Seth Party on Friday evening and a Saturday day cruise. Sally said it was fine with her, so I told him we would greatly appreciate a relaxing trip after the week we've all had."

"When I mentioned the trip to the boys, Andrew turned white as a sheet and told me he had never flown on a big jet - and the idea scared the crap out of him. By the time Sally finished reassuring him that everything would be fine and that he would love flying and seeing the tops of the clouds, he was raring to go. He is in his bedroom now, playing with Peyton and planning what he thinks they will see."

"He loves his brother, doesn't he?" "More than anybody realizes. Peyton can do no wrong to him and he seems to worship the ground little Peyton walks on."

"Richard, that is sweet to hear. I am so glad Andrew is finally happy in his short life; he had it so hard before you, and Sally loved him and made him part of your family." "Yeah, he did, Jaiden. Andrew is such an amazing, smart young man and so loving. I hate to think about life if he hadn't become my and Sally's son."

"Richard, there is no doubt in my mind that Hashem is blessing you and Sally for the love you have brought to Peyton and his family." "Jaiden, to me, it's the other way around: The Rileys have blessed me and Seth by loving us and making the two of us a part of their family." "I think it goes both ways, Richard."

"Richard, I just thought of something: When I chartered the private jet and we flew down south to Alabama, Andrew was on that plane." "He remembers that, but he said he had never flown on a big jet, and I think the aircraft size is a bit intimidating to him." "Maybe so. I'll piss off everybody on the plane, book everyone in first class, and pay the difference. Andrew will love the big seats and seeing out the window a bit easier."

"Nah, don't do that, Jaiden. It's a rather short trip by jet, so economy is fine for me and my family. The boys will be better able to move around in economy and be able to go to the bathroom, if they need to, without bothering anybody – I hope!"

"I think all the children will do just fine, Richard. They are good, mindful, and considerate children." "Tis true, brother-in-law, you guys have done an awesome job with your ten youngsters."

"You have as well, Richard. And Sally, I thought it would be hard to top your mom, and I don't need you repeating me in Alabama, but Sally might edge out your mom a little bit."

"I don't think so, Jaiden; I think they are on even par. Both are very special women in my book." "In everybody's book, Richard. And do you realize what makes them extra special moms?"

"What's that, Jaiden?"

"They are loving, doting, Jewish moms." "Tis true, my friend! And I wouldn't have it any other way."

Sally walked into the room and asked, "You wouldn't have what any other way?" Richard smiled and held up one finger to let Sally know he'd tell her when he got off the phone."

"Well, Richard, ten children just told me they are hungry and want to eat dinner, so I guess I better run and get them something to eat. I'm glad they want to eat out because they want seafood, and I don't want to smell it in the house tonight." "I can understand brother-in-law. Have a good time, and don't forget to call Tony." "OK, bro, have a good night!"

OK, Richard, spill it, sweetheart; you wouldn't have what any other way?" "Sally, you'll have to keep this a sworn secret: Jaiden said he thought you might edge out Mom a little in the wonderful mom category."

"What a nice thing for him to say, Richard; that makes my day."

"Yes, it was, babe, and it made my day, too, because I know I have the most wonderful wife in the world and the best mother any children could ever have."

Sally kissed Richard ever so gently and said, "Thank you, sweetheart, and the children have the best father they could ever have. We are all blessed to have you."

"I hope that is true, Sally; I try hard not to be like my bio-donor."

"Richard, you are so unlike him to me that he never enters the equation of love and family!"

A tear rolled from Richard's eyes when Sally said that, and she pulled him into a loving hug and held him for the longest. Andrew walked into the den and recognized something special was happening between his parents and turned to go back to his room without saying a word."

When Richard and Sally broke their embrace, Richard walked to Andrew's room and asked him if he needed anything when he walked into the den.

"No, sir, Dad; I was just going to tell Mom I helped Peyton get his bath and put him to bed so she could spend some time with you."

Richard threw his head back and looked upward as he choked up over how observant, loving, and respectful his son was. He felt blessed beyond measure and knew that to be the absolute truth.

When Richard returned to the den, tears flowed from his eyes as he sat on the couch, put his face in his hands, and cried. Sally put her arm around him and tried to comfort him the best she could. "Richard, talk to me, honey!"

Between sobs, Richard told Sally how blessed he felt and what Andrew had walked into the living room to say while they were hugging each other. Sally stared into space as tears started flowing down her face. "Richard, I don't know what we did to deserve such a special son, but whatever it was, I thank Hashem for allowing it to happen." "So do I, babe; I love you more than anything in this world and there isn't anything I won't do for you."

Sally walked to Andrew's room, tucked him into bed with a kiss, and told him what a wonderful son she thought he was. He smiled from ear to ear when his mom said that to him.

About that time, their telephone rang, and it was Richard's mom. Sally answered the telephone, and before she could say another word, Phyllis instinctively said, "Sally, I can tell you have been crying, so spill it. What's up?"

"Mom, Richard was talking to Jaiden, who had some very sweet things to say about me." "What, Sally? About you edging me out as a young mother? Peyton has mentioned that a time or two as well – after I asked him, of course."

"Mom, I would NEVER say that about you, and you know it!"

"Nevertheless, Sally, I made many mistakes as a young mother, and I know it. I don't see you making the mistakes I did, and I agree with Jaiden and Peyton; you are an amazing young mom compared to how I was when I was a new mom." Sally burst into full-blown tears and said, `Mom, thank you so much. You saying that is so special to me."

"Sally, I just wanted to see if the four of you would be in Jacksonville this weekend." "Yes, mam, we will be. Tony wants the entire family there so that everyone will be in attendance for a huge party for Seth." "Good, I just wanted to make sure. I love y'all and will talk to you this weekend." "We love y'all, too, mom; we'll see you on Friday night."

When Sally hung up the phone, Richard was very concerned that her face was so red, and he asked her what had been said on the phone.

"Richard, you know what you swore me to secrecy over a few minutes ago about what Jaiden had said?"

"Yes, why?" "Your mother just made that very statement to me and said she and Peyton had even discussed it. Hon, I feel so blessed and loved right now. I would never have said anything like that to your mom, and for her to say that to me ..." Sally burst into tears again.

"I try hard to be a good mom like she was, and for her to tell me that I am beating her with my efforts ... geez, it blows my mind."

"Sally, sweetheart, for what it's worth, everybody tells me you are that kind of mom.... everybody. Even Peyton says, `Mommie sweet.' And you know well how Andrew feels about you."

"I do, sweetheart; I just hope I live up to their feelings."

"You more than live up to those feelings, Sally, I promise you that. If only my original mom had been like you. Our sons are so blessed compared to how I had to grow up, so very blessed." Sally cried even more when her husband said that.

Jaiden called Richard to let him know everything was set for the trip and that the airline tickets had been ordered - everything was set for Seth's party in Jacksonville, and it was going to be one huge grand party.

"Jaiden, you know what you said about thinking Sally went a bit beyond my mom in the momma category?" "Yes, and I hope you haven't, and don't say anything to Phyllis."

"Jaiden, I don't have to. She called a few minutes after you and I talked and said the very same thing to Sally, saying she had made many mistakes as a young mom that she hadn't seen Sally make and that she and Peyton had even discussed it. Sally bawled her eyes out when she hung up the phone. That made her feel so good about herself." "It should, Richard, it is true."

When Richard and Jaiden finished talking, Jaiden told Peyton that Richard related what their mom had said.

"Jaiden, I promise you, Mom brought that up with me and I let her talk. I would have never said anything like that to her. She has an opinion of Sally that is unlike anybody else's. Heaven help anybody who says anything derogatory to Mom about Sally. Sally can do no wrong to her. I'd had to see her chew up someone like a momma bear protecting her cubs. And by the way, she feels the same way about you."

"Interesting!"

"Jaiden, it's more than interesting; even I can't say anything about you that isn't good. Mom would bite my head off if I did."

"Just out of curiosity, Peyton, if you could say something about me that wasn't positive, what would you say?" "Jaiden, the only thing I could and might ever say about you I have said to your face: you have a hard time letting things go and forgiving yourself. Beyond that, you are as perfect as you can be to me."

Jaiden took Peyton's face in his hands, kissed him very gently, and said, "Thank you, sweetheart, you are perfect to me, too!"

"Jaiden, you know the character Nick Spier in the movie Heart Stopper?" "Yeah, why?" I feel you love me the way Nick loves Charley."

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

"Babe, what a nice, sweet thing to say!"

"Jaiden, you have succeeded in your efforts at love."

The telephone rang and Peyton answered it. Richard called to let Peyton and Jaiden know he may be a little late getting to the office because Sally was feeling nauseous. Peyton said he would let the others know and for Richard to let them know if they could do anything to help him with Sally.

The next morning, Richard called the office to let the staff know Sally woke vomiting and was horribly nauseated, and he would stay home with her that day.

The office manager, Ashley, got on the intercom and called for Drs. Peyton, Jaiden, Leon, and Peter to come to the front office when they finished with their patients.

All four guys sauntered into the front office simultaneously and asked, "Ashley, what is so important that you needed the four of us in the front office together?" "Gentlemen, it's Sally. You need to call Richard. And while you are on the telephone with him, tell him we ladies said congratulations."

"Ashley, what are you talking about?" "Gentlemen, I am talking about a lady who got nauseous last night, woke up, and vomited this morning. I am sure congratulations are in order for your brother and brother-in-law. Call it women's intuition, but you guys are about to get a new pediatric patient."

Peyton and Leon said simultaneously, "Oh my gosh, no! She can't be!" Ashley said, "I don't know if I would say she can't be because it sounds like your brother -excuse my phrasing - has screwed up in a good way."

"Jaiden, did we receive the pregnancy tests we ordered last week?" "Ashley replied, "We did, Dr. Peyton." "Good, I'll be back in an hour and a half. We can do lunch when I get back."

Peyton grabbed a pregnancy test and hauled ass, as he put it, to Richard's house. He knocked on the door and when Richard answered the door, Peyton handed him the pregnancy test and said, "Check it right quick." Richard had Peyton sit in the den and play with Peyton II. Fifteen minutes later, Richard returned to the den, and all he said before turning and returning to his bedroom was ... it's positive!"

Richard called their mom and handed Peyton the telephone.

"Peyton, this is Mom. Richard sounded upset; what's going on?"

"Mom, Sally is horribly sick and throwing up profusely. She got nauseated last night and woke up vomiting this morning."

"Richard called me at the office sounding concerned, so I hauled ass to their home to help him. I have been watching and playing with little Peyton while he checked her out really well. It seems you are going to be a grandma again."

"You could have heard Phyllis scream all the way to Pennsylvania! Then she bawled her eyes out. The clinic's office manager was so concerned that she went and got Dr. Riley and told him Phyllis was in a bad way, apparently really upset. When Jim got to her office, she was crying hysterically.

"Phyllis, honey, what's wrong?" "Jim, you are going to be a granddaddy again; Sally's pregnant, and they just got the diagnosis from our other son." "Which one, Sweety." "Peyton, dummy!" "Well, I'll be damned! I hope they wait until Friday night to tell Seth; he'll be so happy he'll jump over the moon, and it is a full moon Friday evening, so that should be one heck of a spectacle."

When Peyton returned to the office, he grabbed Jaiden, planted his face in Jaiden's shoulder, and cried as hard as he could.

It remains to be seen if either of the guys could be happier than they are now.
