Without a further word the four of us just trooped on down to the showers.

Once we were washed up Karl and I returned to my room and settled in for the night.

Saturday morning and we took our jog and then stopped at the cafeteria for breakfast. I didn't bother showering up as I was headed over to the Rec Center. I had intended to work the weight room this morning, but when I saw that the apparatus room was open I went in there instead.

A good portion of the team was there and we all went about working different pieces of equipment. I spent a good deal of time working on my floor routine today. I tried a couple of different moves today, but they just didn't feel right to me.

"Dennis...don't be making any changes at this late date."

"Yes Coach."

I went and worked my ring routine and the high bar before calling it a day here. It was into the pool and then the whirlpool and it was well after lunchtime by the time I was finished.

The shadow and I made our way back to the frat and of course Karl was there waiting for me.

"Have a good workout lover?"

"Yeah I did. Everybody is looking good and I'm betting we take this one."

"I wonder what kind of monkey wrench that will throw into somebodies plans?"

"It may well be just what he plans on happening. That would put us right up there for the all states. I can just see it Dresmire and us 1 and 2 fighting it out for the gold. Dresmire would still be the favorite though as we had one forfeit. One way or the other somebody is likely to clean up."

"Yeah the question is which way is it supposed to fall? Are we supposed to win or lose?"

"I've got no idea at this point. I suppose the odds would tell us if we knew anything about betting."

"I suppose Stimson could tell us."

"He can only tell us what it looks like is suppose to happen Karl. There's no real telling what Teramedies has in mind. He could well even double cross the rest of his crowd."

"If they found out.....I wouldn't want to be Andros."

"Yeah well the big boys know enough to hedge their bets. It's the small time operators that will end up taking it in the throat."

"Yeah I suppose so. Did you get any lunch?"

"No but I'm not really hungry either."

"So what do we do for the rest of the day?"

"Weeeellllllll. We could always hold up right here?"

"We could, but wouldn't that get the rest of the frat brothers envious?"

"Hey they're free to partake of each other."

"Yeah I suppose."

We just went to my bed and made out for a few hours.

Eventually my stomach was getting the better of me. We headed over to the cafeteria for supper. Gordon and Aiden joined us a short time after we sat down.

"So what's the word on the hotel?"

"Go ahead and book it and tell them it is for the Holtz Sawyer wedding. They should give you a 10% discount. FYI they do have an indoor pool and a health center."

"On site restaurant?"

"Oh yeah a damn good one and not cheap either, but I can tell you that it's worth the price."

"Have you guys 'registered' anywhere yet?"

"I don't think we've even given that a thought. We won't really need anything as we'll be moving into my house. Karl, any ideas?"

"Not off the top of my head. Do we have a favorite charity?"

"No but that's something to think about. Maybe we ought to suggest they donate to their favorite charity in our name?"

"That could work too I suppose."

Karl and I took our walk with the shadow in tow and eventually got back to the frat. Karl stayed the night with me again. Sunday dawned rainy and I texted Gordon and Aiden that we wouldn't be jogging this morning. So Karl and I just snuggled in bed for a couple of extra hours.

By the time we got our act together it had stopped raining and we made our way over to the cafeteria for some brunch. We took in a movie at the campus theatre and on our way back to the frat Karl stopped into his room and got his response list. We then made our way back to the frat and spent a good part of the rest of the afternoon comparing our lists. Between us we ended up with 175 people.

"So how many extra do we plan on for just in case?"

"Hell if I know, but Roland probably would."

I grabbed my phone, as it wasn't that late in the day.

"Hey Dennis, what do you need?"

"Just giving you the head count. Looks like 175."

"Then just to be on the safe side I would say plan for 190."

"Hey you know better than me."

"While I have you on the phone, DJ or band?"

"Roland wants to know if we want a DJ or a band?"

"DJ as far as I'm concerned."

"Have you hired anybody to do photos or do you want our regular guy?"

I had switched it to speaker when Roland started asking questions.

"Their guy as far as I'm concerned Den."

"You heard him Roland."

"Yes I did. Who do you want to use for the tuxes?"

"Does Jamisons in the mall do rentals?"

"They sure do."

These were the guys who had been so helpful that first Christmas so I made a decision to go with them.

"Then they'll do. Will our getting home the end of May give them enough lead time?"

"I should certainly think so. I hate to bring it up Dennis, but people are going to start wanting to get deposits."

"Have them submit the bills to my lawyers. They handle the finances."

"Will do. You want to make any changes you need to let me know soonest."

"We will Roland and thanks for taking this on."

"Not a problem. Later."

"Bye. Well that's one less thing we have to worry about for now."

"Which leaves what the meet and finals?"

"And the week between finals and the all states. I need to stay on campus in order to qualify to compete. You and Pete get to go home when the exams are done."

"Well I can take Pete that's not a problem. It kinda sucks that you will have to come all the way back here to get your car."

"Such is life,as they say. What are we going to do for dinner?"

"Might just as well hit the cafeteria I suppose."

"Let's get the shadow and head over."

We were soon on our way over and Pete and the guys joined us.

"Pete when you get home you're going to have to go to Jamisons in the mall and get measured for a tux."

"Really? A monkey suit? Please tell me it's not going to be something outrageous?"

"A straight black tux as far as I'm concerned Pete."

"I just thought Den. Bobbie is going to need one too isn't he?"

"He is and Connie is going to need a formal dress in one of the colors, which I doubt very much is going to be half the battle of getting Bobbie in a tux."

"Hell mom and dad need to go formal as well don't they?"

"Yeah I suppose so."

"So I guess mom and Connie have to check with Roland for colors for thier dresses?"

"Yeah, they should be in the wedding colors I guess."

"Why do I see this turning into a circus no matter what we do Den?

"Because weddings usually do unless we elope, which I think would not sit well with your mother."

"Don't think dad would be that overjoyed either."

"Shit did they have anybody they wanted to invite that we didn't already notify?"

"Not that I can think of,but I guess I had better check."

"And damn quick to so we can update Roland."

Karl went and got on his phone. I could see him scribbling down names to be added to the guest list. It ended up being another 10 people, including his uncle Jasper.

I saw that name and recognized it as being his homophobic uncle.

"Karl, I swear he opens his mouth I will drop kick him out of the place myself, uncle or not."

"I'd just as soon not see him there either Den,but he is family."

"Yeah I understand lover."

It being Sunday night, I just emailed Roland an update for the head count.

"We might just as well call it a night lover."

"Yeah I guess."

We had a long kiss before Karl headed for his dorm.

Monday morning and the routine continued. Things went along as usual for the day, and for that matter the whole week. So, here we were at Friday night.

Tomorrow was an all day practice so Karl and I made an early night of it even though he did spend it with me at the frat.

Saturday morning and we slept in a little as I wasn't going to do the jogging this morning. Karl and I made our way over to the cafetereia and grabbed some breakfast and after a bit I headed over to the Rec Center.

We were all there on time and practice started. Even Dwayne got into rotation today. He wasn't pushing himself, but he was damn sure out there trying.

We were in team format today so that everybody could be watched on every piece of equipment. We started with the Pommel Horse and every one worked through that with no problem. It was on to the vault and again everyone seemed to do fine. And so it went through high bar, and parrallel bars and floor routines.

Which left us with rings as our final routine for the morning session.

Dana was first up and he started his swing through to his first move and there was a loud "SNAP" heard. Dana was hanging by one hand and just dropped to the floor. The ring was in his other hand with the snapped rope dangling.

Stimsons guys seemed to appear from nowhere and they surrounded Dana, who was rubbing his shoulder. It must have taken quite a jolt when all of his weight came down on it out of the swing.

Coach went to Dana and took a look at his shoulder.

"You're done for the day Dana. Get into the office and I'll take a closer look at that in a moment."

"Yes Coach."

Meanwhile Stimsons men were looking at the end of the rope that was still attached to the ring.

My shadow looked up at me.

"This sure as hell looks like it was tampered with."
