Andy was still the RA here so I got their room number from him.

When I knocked it was Josh who came to the door.

"You got a few to talk?"

"Yeah I guess."

"Greg here too?"

"Yeah."

"Can I come in? Don't think this is a conversation for the hall."

Josh opened the door wide and stepped aside to let me in, and moved to the far side of the room with Greg.

"Pure and simple guys, you've got to get your heads into the game. I shouldn't be telling you this, hell I bet even I'm not suppose to know. Coach is seriously considering pulling you guys from the meet, if you can't get your heads in the game."

"Yeah we kinda figured as much when he had us leave practice."

"So is there anything, short of getting physical, that I can do to help?"

"Dennis, you suggested I try the frat, but I'm scared to even ask anybody over there. Is there anyway you could put some feelers out for me?"

"I need to be over there in a bit. I could ask around to the guys that I trust. I'll get back to you on it."

The thought did cross my mind that Paul was only a couple of doors down; but that might well end up causing him trouble with Cameron. Still, it was a possibility, but not one I was going to investigate today.

"Regardless guys, if you want your shot you've got to get it together some how and PDQ. I need to head over to the frat for a meeting. I'll see you Monday if not sooner."

I was quickly out the door and headed over to the frat for who only knew what.

I got there with time to spare and started considering just who might be right for this. Jared was to single minded and I doubted very much that he would stop if asked.

So, who did that leave as likely candidates?

Well there was Alan, who was easy going enough, but as memory served he was in a commited relationship, and on those few Friday nights I had been here I had never seen him wandering the hall.

Phil, whom I had caught wandering the halls almost every Friday night he had been here. I didn't get the same "vibe" from him that I did Jared though. So he was a possible.

Bruce was also a possible even though he tended to stay more in the background of things.

Oscar was outgoing enough and though I never caught him wandering the hall, his door was open many a Friday night if rumors were to be believed.

Then there was William. If there was a "strutting peacock" of the house it was William. He had just about everything going for him, looks, money, position, personality. From what rumors I had heard though, he was a brutal lover and certainly not what Josh needed for his first or only time with a guy.

I didn't have anymore time to consider as Kurt was calling the meeting to order.

"Ok guys we have two things facing us right now. Come the spring, the college has decided in all of its wisdom, to have a competition between all of the frats and sororities. Some of the activities will be physical, some intellectual, and some artistic. I've got a copy of the activities and we need to participate in all of them. What's at stake is the chairman ship of a new student council that is being formed.

This council will advise the board of governors about student concerns and whatever else the board puts to them to look at. So take a look at the plan and let's see what kind of ideas we can come up with. Participation isn't mandatory but would be appreciated."

"Now for the not so good news. Starting a week from tonight we're going to be having a member of the governing commitee of the frat residing with us for an undetermined period of time. There have been alligations made we've been behaving outrageously in attempts to turn more students gay. Yeah I know what you're thinking, and I'm pretty sure that the governing commitee feels the same way, but they have to at least appear to be doing their due diligence. Regardless, for the duration, open door night is suspended. That doesn't mean you guys can't get together if you want, just be a little less blatant about it."

At that particular moment the filter between my brain and my vocal cords took a brief break.

"Sounds like somebody on the redneck squad finally grew a brain."

"Yeah Dennis it does, switiching from intimidation to politics. They get us censured and the governing commitee has no choice but to withdraw the charter and the house will be disbanded. We won't be forced to leave school, but we won't be represented either."

"And of course the names of those making the accusations are being withheld so there won't be any counter accusations I'm sure?"

"They are. But Dennis I want you in particular to relate the story of how you came to join. It will give the commitee 'context'. Give them some idea of what things have been like to this point."

"I can do that no problem if you think it will help."

"I do so please be available at some point. I mean I know you've got you gymnastics to worry about."

"Yeah, so when does this representative arrive?"

"He's due in next Friday and will actually be staying next to you."

"Wooooooooooooooooonderful. Do you think I ought to spend a few nights here?"

"It couldn't hurt, but I'll leave that up to you and Karl to decide. So thanks for being here and go make the most of the last open door night for a while."

The meeting broke up and I headed home after calling Karl and letting him know I was on my way. It was a good thing it was a short drive. My mind was still working on the problem of Josh.

Given the meeting we had just had there was no way in hell that I could ask one of the frat brothers to undertake the task. That left me with few options. I could either do it myself, which I thought was a bad idea from the very start, or I could ask Paul, which raised its own set of problems, or I could ask some other gay person that I knew to undertake the task. That left me locally with Karl,Devon and Carlton and I didn't know either of them well enough to ask as well as they were engaged. Further afeild that left me with a bunch of guys at home, but they all had lives of their own and likely wouldn't want to come all this way. Still, Aaron would be just the one that I would trust this to. I knew he was a gentle lover and that he would stop if asked.

I got up to the apartement and Karl only had to take one look at me.

"I know that look and I don't like it Den. What's going on at the frat?"

"Two things. There's going to be a set of competitions in the spring between the frats, the prize being the chairmanship of a new council to the board of governors for the college. The second thing is nothing but a pain in the ass. Somebody has filed a charge of the frat actively trying to turn students gay. Upshot is that we'll be having a representative from the governing commitee staying at the frat indefinitely."

"So looks like somebody finally smartened up."

"It appears that way."

"There's more bothering you than that though isn't there?"

"Yeah there is and I'm not sure just how to explain or handle it."

"From the beginning is usually the best place."

"You know that the two new guys to the team were having a little bit of an issue with my being gay. Well the other day I was spotting them and I had to lay hands on one of them."

"And he freaked."

"To some extent yeah. Well it is still messing with him to the point that coach sent them both away from practice and is thinking about not giving them their shot at the next meet. Not sure I was suppose to know that or not. Regardless I went to see the guys and let them know they had to pull their act together. I asked the guy flat out if he had ever thought about what it would be like with a guy and he admitted he had thought about it. What it comes down to is I was asked to help set something up to resolve the situation."

"And it if wouldn't make it really wierd, regardless of the outcome, you'd do it yourself if this guy wasn't a teammate."

"That about sums it up. With this whole thing at the frat I can't ask any of the guys out there to do it either."

"Which leaves you with me, Aiden and Gordon, Paul, and maybe Carlton and Devon."

"I hadn't even thought about Aiden and Gordon. I think they are to committed to each other. The same for Carlton and Devon. Paul at least has some idea of what would be going on."

"But you're afraid of what that might do to his relationship to Cam."

"Damn right. I'd have to put it the both of them."

"I don't suppose that this is anything that might resolve itself naturally?"

"I doubt it like hell. The guy is very unsure of it all."

"Which one is it?"

"You know better than that lover."

"Yeah I suppose I should. I'm guessing you don't want to ask me to do it becuase whoever will find out eventually that we're married and that too would make it wierd."

"Yeah it looks more and more that I'm going to have to ask Paul."

"There might be another option. Maybe one of the guys from Paladins?"

"First we don't know any of those guys well enough, well at least that we know of and second we damn well know that they aren't all gay."

"True on both counts I guess. Damn, why do I have the feeling that this isn't going to end well no matter what you do?"

"Because I'm getting involved in other peoples lives. I got damn lucky with Pete and Aiden. I'm really pushing my luck with Paul and then I'm really asking for it if I do this for this guy."

"So then what's the plan?"

"The plan is for me to think about this for the tonight and tomorrow and IF I decide to ask Paul do it after supper on Sunday."

"You going to put it to him in front of Cameron?"

"Absolutely I am. I don't expect Paul to do it if they are developing something without he discusses it with Cam first."

"It's going to be a long weekend isn't it lover?"
