We lined up by the door to the floor. We heard the home team introduced first to a smattering of applause. When we were introduced and started to take the floor the place exploded with noise from those that had made the trip. I think our troops easily outnumbered those that had shown up from Pemberton.

They guys first got a confused look and then every one of them stood a little straighter, a little prouder. Coach looked to me and gave me a wink and even he stood a little taller.

It was easy to spot Karl and Pete with Susan and the guys. I noticed that the scoreboard wasn't lit up yet. We went through the opening ceremonies and when the board finally did light up I looked to the guys and saw Gordon and Aiden pump their fists when they saw my name on the board.

We were paired up with a guy from the other team and my first station turned out to be the floor. I just as soon would rather get the floor out of the way anyway. The home team guys got to go first on each station. I only paid attention to what was going on right in front of me. I learned that I was paired with Albert Pemberton IV. Yeah the great grandson of the founder of the school. Albert started his excercise as I watched. The moves he was doing had a higher degree of difficulty than my routine, but he was trying too hard and getting sloppy in his execution. He even missed a couple of full rotations on his tumbling runs.

Then it was my turn. I kept my routine firmly in mind and started out slowly and calmly and built my presentation move by move. Soon enough I was at my last tumbling run. When I landed my final somersault, I stepped out a bit but remained inbounds. I finished my routine and our guys gave me a resounding approval.

I didn't look at the scores. That would wait until the end of the meet as far as I was concenred. I kept my mind on what I was doing. There was sporadic applause as other members of the team worked the various apparatus.

We moved on through the other apparatus in sequence and Albert was always trying the more difficult moves and not accomplishing all of them in a 'clean' fashion. My degree of difficulty was only slightly less than his on most things, but I was managing to complete my moves in a more controlled fashion.

The day wore on and I didn't look to the scoreboard at all. Finally we were at our final station. The vault. We got two shots at this and the best one was the one that counted. Albert did his first vault. A double somersault in tuck. The flight and execution of the somersault itself were pretty good, but he stumbled out of the landing. I was going to do the same vault. I took my run up to the vault and sprang up and did the double with no problem. I landed it with only a minor step out. Our guys went to their feet in applause. When they quieted down again Albert was ready to try his second vault. He was going to try a triple somersault in tuck. I wanted to tell him it wasn't worth the risk, not after the way he had stumbled out of the double. We had not spoken the entire meet, which was pretty much custom as far as I knew, so I couldn't speak now.

Albert made his run up to the vault and made it up into the air but instead of the triple he did another double, but this time he landed it.

It was once again my turn for my final vault and my final move of the whole meet. I took a deep calming breath and made my run up to the vault. I was airborne and threw myself into a double somersault with a twist in layout. I spotted the ground with plenty of time to spare and I stuck my landing. Our people went wild once again.

Now that we were done actually competeing Albert looked at me.

"And you're the second alternate?"

"Only because I wasn't ready at the beginning of the season."

"So who is responsible for getting all of these guys over here? I know damn well the school doesn't have any money in the budget for this."

"From what I understand one of he students paid for it out of his own pocket."

"No way. The guys that go to state don't have that kind of money."

"One of them does, at least that is my understanding."

"Well whoever he is good on him. Even we never get this kind of support at an away game and there isn't a person here who can't afford to drive it if they wanted to,or for that matter rent some coaches."

All of the competitions were soon done after that and I would finally look at the scoreboard. I had outscored Albert on everything except the highbar and I was only .03 behind him on that. I started to look at all the rest of the scores and it was soon pretty obvious to me that it now stood at 48 to 3.

When the annoucement was made our guys went completely nuts and they rushed the floor. Karl and the crew quickly found their way over to me and the hugs and pats on the back went on until order was once again restored.

"Ladies and gentlemen it is our pleasure to announce that the overall medal goes to Mr Dennis Sawyer of State!"

Our guys went wild once again and I was backslapped by everyone I walked past to get to the podium to accept the medal. When they slipped it over my head, not only our guys but a few of the Pemberton folks went in to genuine applause as well.

Once we were back in the locker room the team was all ready to glad hand me. We showered up and departed the facility in our street uniforms and made our way over to where the coaches were getting ready to load up. The guys from the frat were there as well as a goodly number of familiar faces. They all wanted a piece of me at that point and loading took forever. They were finally on thier way while we still had to go back and clean out our rooms.

When we came out of the dorm we had been using the other team was right there to shake our hands as we turned in our keys and boarded the bus.

By the time we got back to campus it was starting to get dark. When we pulled into Cochran parking lot, every car in the lot turned its lights on and there was one hell of a welcoming committee waiting for us. Karl,Gordon,Aiden along with their roomies and lord knows how many other folks were there to greet us. I even saw some of the guys from the football team in the crowd.

Everybody wanted to see my medal and I of course obliged them. By the time things started to break up it was dark out and I was famished as we hadn't stopped for food on the way back.

Once we were alone Karl was all over me.

"I'm so proud of you Den! Medal your first time out and this one will be one that you can remember forever."

"It will but let's go get something...anything to eat. I wonder if Tony is still open? One of his subs would really hit the spot."

Karl looked at his watch.

"Saturday night. He should be open if we hurry."

His car was right here and as much of a hurry as we were in I was glad to see him take the time to give it the once over before he opened his door.

Soon enough we were off campus and at Tonys with time to spare. We each got ourselves a sub and a drink and headed back for campus. Once there we found ourselves a quiet spot and had a bit of a picnic.

Once the food was done Karl took me into his arms and held me tight and to hell with anybody that might come along.

"Hell of a weekend lover."

"And it isn't over yet Karl, unless you want it to be?"

"Oh hell no love, but after a meet do you have the energy for that?"

"For you always lover, though I think we'll have to amble on over to the frat."

"I'm even ready for that tonight lover. Lead on."

We sauntered on over to the frat and when we went in there was a slight round of applause and I had to do the whole showing off of the medal again.

We eventually made our way upstairs and headed to my room amidst a few calls of "We know what you're here for."

Finally with the door closed,Karl and I slowly stripped each other and were soon streched out on the bed. We cuddled and kissed for a good long time before Karl decided to get serious.

Karl pulled my leg up over his hip and moved closer to me. I relaxed and let my lover claim me and as he slid into me I moaned at the feeling of him deep within me.

Soon enough Karl got down to business and not long after he filled me with his love, even as I covered my chest and abs with my own seed.

Sleep followed and by the time we woke up the sun was high in the sky.

"I think we blew our jogging for this morning love."

"I know we did but I think Gordon will forgive us this once."

We grabbed a shower and headed downstairs where I once again had to go through the routine of showing off the medal.

We finally made it over to the cafeteria, where I was greeted by another round of applause.
